The Martin Hayes Quartet, a new ensemble from one of Ireland's foremost musicians, will release its debut CD The Blue Room in conjunction with their first American tour in October 2018. Kicking off October 11 at New York City's Highline Ballroom, the tour will visit Chicago's Old Town School of Folk Music, San Francisco'sFreight And Salvage and other notable U.S. venues along the way. Sydney's Boydos has premiered 'a wonderfully chaotic visual' for his debut single 'Plans' at Billboard. The Velvet Underground Experience, an intriguing new multi-media art and music exhibition spotlighting the iconic band's early NYC roots, will be opening in New York City on October 10.  It is the first global exhibition dedicated to the Velvet Underground and its influence on modern music, fashion, art & popular culture, set against the backdrop of the band's early days collaborating with Andy Warhol in NYC in the 1960s.  Co-presented by Bandsintown and Citi, the three-month exhibition will be located at 718 Broadway in Greenwich Village, paying homage as well to the neighborhood's deep artistic base.

Terry Riley, the father of minimalism and 'guru of American music' (The New York Times), will share the stage with LCD Soundsystem's analogue 'synth wizard' (NPR) Gavin Rayna Russom for a world premiere collaboration at National Sawdust - the music incubator and venue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The duo's performance on September 15, 2018 emphasizes National Sawdust's commitment to creating a fertile artistic environment for revered artists to foster the next generation's emerging talents while opening their diverse, wide-ranging fourth season. The Opening Weekend lineup also includes a celebration of Riley's work directed by composer-conductor and National Sawdust Artist-in-Residence Julian Wachner and featuring The Choir of Trinity Wall Street and NOVUS NY, and Devon Welsh kicking off the series of concerts curated by the Brooklyn-based AdHoc.

With its first Executive Director taking the reins at the same time Levitt at the Falls is on the verge of its first free outdoor concert, the mission its founders had in mind years ago is truly coming to life on Friday, August 3. "We've been telling Sioux Falls that our mission is to build community through music and our first free concert on August 3 puts that mission into action," says Board President Jennifer Kirby. "Regardless what language people speak, what social status they have or what age they are, when you experience the chemistry of live music with others, you're connected," added Kirby.

How singular that PR Newman doesn't stand for the name of the artist, nor for “Public Relations”, but for “Punk-rock Randy Newman”. The nickname, earned a couple of years ago during his 4 years co-fronting for the band the Berkshire Hounds, is a testimony of Spencer Garland's influences. If the punk has grown quieter, the rock has grown and developed new dimensions. Garland released his new album Turn Out locally in Austin, Texas last winter before signing a deal with Germany's Devil Duck Records, who just opened an outpost there. They'll issue the album internationally on July 20th. Turn Out is chock-full of groovy, soul-infused power pop with raw edges, juxtaposed with sophisticated arrangements and Beatles-y orchestration. Austin's powerhouse music site Do512 premiered the video for his first single “But No”, calling it “...frantic, whistle-filled...Like the song itself, the video is joyously frenetic and instantly memorable.”

St. Ann's Warehouse will present the U.S. Premiere of The Jungle, the immensely acclaimed Good Chance Theatre co-production with the National Theatre and Young Vic. Currently opening a five-month run at London's Playhouse Theatre on the West End, The Jungle comes to St. Ann's beginning December 4, 2018.
