The choice of plays includes a Tony Award-winning musical, two classics from American literature, two landmark plays written nearly 50 years apart, a musical parody of Broadway, two scintillating musical revues that celebrate the blues and the legendary music of Johnny Cash, an interactive stage show by mentalist Marc Salem and a soul-stirring hit from London and Broadway.

A RAISIN IN THE SUN by Lorraine Hansberry will play at the Perseverance Theater from March 9 - April 1, 2012 and at the Sydney Laurence Theatre at the Anchorage Center for the Performing Arts from April 13-22, 2011.

Lorraine Hansberry's A RAISIN IN THE SUN is one of those canonic, American plays that is a regional theater favorite and is almost undisputedly good. This means Hansberry's writing is rarely questioned, and the viability of the show being well-received by audiences also goes without skepticism. However, in Geva Theatre's production, director Robert O'Hara's artistic license with Hansberry's script is close but no cigar.

The Broadway production of Bruce Norris's CLYBOURNE PARK will open on Thursday, April 19 at the Walter Kerr Theatre. The production is now being produced by Jujamcyn.

Valencia College Theater will present the Lorraine Hansberry modern classic, "A Raisin in the Sun," through February 26.

As BroadwayWorld reported earlier today, lead producer Scott Rudin has backed out of producing the Broadway production of Bruce Norris's CLYBOURNE PARK, which was due for a Thursday, April 12th opening night at the Walter Kerr Theatre.
