2017 Kleban Prize Winners Announced

The Kleban Foundation is pleased to announce that the 27th annual Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre lyricist has been awarded to Daniel Zaitchik and the 27th annual Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre librettist has been awarded to Lisa Kron. The 2017 prizes will be presented on Monday, February 6, 2017, in a private ceremony (by invitation only) hosted by ASCAP and BMI at ASCAP.

Christine Scarfuto is the Long Wharf Theatre's literary manager and resident dramaturg. Never heard of that position? 'It's a pretty fascinating job,' she says, one that she discovered after being in college for a while. Her job at the Long Wharf Theatre includes providing articles about the play and/or playwright for the already impressive programs that are designed by graphic artist Claire Zoghb, and for setting up the lobby displays.

In conjunction with its upcoming production of A Doll's House the Huntington Theatre Company will host a number of special events and post-show conversations. Admission to onsite post-show events is free with a ticket to A Doll's House, available at huntingtontheatre.org/adollshouse by phone at 617 266 0800, or in person at the BU Theatre (264 Huntington Avenue) and Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA (527 Tremont Street) box offices. Tickets start at $25. Performances begin Friday, January 6, 2017 at the Avenue of the Arts/BU Theatre.

Celebrating 10 seasons of Roundabout Underground, Roundabout Theatre Company has announced the sixth annual Roundabout Underground Reading Series, a five-night event that includes nightly readings of new works written and directed by emerging artists, as well as post-show receptions. The Reading Series will feature new works by Saheem Ali, Emily Feldman, Alex Lubischer, Don Nguyen, Ming Peiffer and Michael Thurber.
