Music fans from around the world will travel to Elvis Presley's Graceland® in January 2017 to celebrate the King of Rock 'n' Roll's birthday. Numerous events are scheduled for January 5-8, 2017, including the Elvis Presley Birthday Proclamation Ceremony on Sunday, January 8 at 9:30 a.m. Central Time, featuring a cake cutting ceremony on the front lawn of Graceland in Memphis.

ELVIS PRESLEY'S MEMPHIS Opens this March

Elvis Presley's Graceland® announced the official opening date for its new, $45 million, 200,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art entertainment complex, now named "Elvis Presley's Memphis", which is currently under construction across the street from Graceland Mansion.   March 2-5, 2017 will be the Grand Opening Celebration weekend, as Graceland welcomes visitors from around the world to its largest and most significant expansion since first opening to the public in 1982.  The opening four days of Elvis Presley's Memphis will feature major celebration events each day, including live concerts that will celebrate Elvis' incredible life and career, and honor Memphis' rich musical legacy across genres, including Blues, Rockabilly, R&B, Soul and Rock 'n' Roll.   

The Guest House at Graceland Opens with Historic, Sold-Out Celebration Weekend

Graceland's® new, world-class, 450-room resort, The Guest House at Graceland, welcomed its first guests today when Priscilla Presley joined Graceland executives to cut the "blue suede ribbon" to signify the official opening for the $92 million luxury property.  Among the first guests to check in were Elvis Presley's family members, friends and musicians, along with Elvis fans and Graceland visitors from around the world.

Twenty Manhattan College Students Received James Patterson Scholarships

For the fifth consecutive year, a group of Manhattan College students will receive scholarships to continue their education, thanks to the generosity of best-selling author James Patterson '69, who will award $110,000 in academic scholarships to Manhattan College. Ten juniors and ten seniors from the Schools of Liberal Arts, Business, Education and Health, Engineering, and Science have received scholarships for the 2016-17 academic year.

Chiara to Play Bartok Quartets From Memory at National Sawdust; Releases New Album

The Chiara String Quartet (Rebecca Fischer and Hyeyung Julie Yoon, violins; Jonah Sirota, viola; Gregory Beaver, cello) will perform all six of Bela Bartok's string quartets by heart, or from memory, a feat never attempted before, at National Sawdust (80 N. 6th St., Brooklyn, NY) on August 30 (Quartets Nos, 1, 3, and 5) and 31 (Quartets Nos. 2, 4, and 6) at 7pm.
