The stars of this year's Wolverhampton Grand pantomime proved it's never too early to get into the panto spirit by launching this year's giant of a show, JACK AND THE BEANSTALK, which opens on Saturday 9 December 2017 starring returning favourites from last year's award-winning production of Aladdin; Lisa Riley, Doreen Tipton, Ian Adams and Adam C Booth, with The Bill star Graham Cole joining them as the evil Fleshcreep, musical theatre actress Sarah Vaughan is the Princess and Julie Paton plays The Harp.

Beginning this month, a host of stars from the world of entertainment will light up the stages in twenty four towns and cities around the UK for this year's Qdos Entertainment pantomime season. From Aberdeen to Plymouth, over 60 well-known actors, comedians and entertainers will lead the casts of the nation's favourite pantomimes in theatres across the country including, for the first time in nearly three decades, a return to the capital's London Palladium.

Celebrations included marking the February birthdays of Carole King, Barry Mann and the late Gerry Goffin, as well as the 45th anniversary of when King's Grammy- award winning album Tapestry was released. Directed by Jonathan Kent with book by Arthur Laurents, Gypsy has music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim suggested by the memoirs of Gypsy Rose Lee, choreography by Stephen Mear, designs by Anthony Ward, musical direction and orchestration by Nicholas Skilbeck, lighting by Mark Henderson and sound by Paul Groothuis.

One of BBC TV's most popular and fondly remembered sitcoms, BIRDS OF A FEATHER, ran for almost 10 years until 1998. Set in Chigwell, it chronicled the misadventures of Sharon Theodopolopoudos and Tracy Stubbs (Pauline Quirke and Linda Robson) and their man-eating neighbour, Dorien Green (Lesley Joseph).
