As BroadwayWorld has previously reported, Lincoln Center Theater will present the new musical WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN, based on the film by Pedro Almodóvar, with a book by Jeffrey Lane, music and lyrics by David Yazbek and direction by Bartlett Sher. This world premiere production will begin previews on Saturday, October 2 at 8pm and open on Thursday, November 4 at 6:45pm on Broadway at the Belasco Theatre (111 W. 44 Street). The production stars Patti LuPone, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Laura Benanti and Sheri Rene Scott. West Palm Beach's only resident professional theatre, Palm Beach Dramaworks, continues its 10th Anniversary season with 'Three Tall Women,' the Pulitzer Prize-winning drama by Edward Albee, on Friday, April 23rd (8PM) at their intimate downtown theatre (322 Banyan Boulevard). Special priced preview performances are slated for April 21st & 22nd (8PM) and the production will play through June 13th.

Michael Frayn is an English playwright and novelist. He began as a reporter for The Guardian and The Observer after graduating college in 1957. His first novel, The Tin Men, was published in 1965 winning him his first of many accolades. His other award winning novels include Headlong, The Russian Interpreter and Spies. Considered to be Britain's finest translator of Anton Chekhov, he adapted four major plays along with several smaller plays for an evening called The Sneeze in London in 1988. Theatrically, Frayn is the playwright for such well received plays including Noises Off, Benefactors, Wild Honey and Democracy.

Lincoln Center's new civic space and urban arts facility, the David Rubenstein Atrium, officially opened today, Thursday, November 19. In celebration of this much anticipated opening, the organization hosted an all day community event with the help of Broadway legend Bernadette Peters that featured free music and dance performances, leading up to the inaugural Target Free Thursday performance, Sexteto Roderiguez and the Cuban-Jewish All Stars at 8:30pm.
