Grammy award-winner John McLaughlin is known as an extraordinary solo artist, a collaborator and sideman for artists such as Miles Davis, as the leader of both the ground breaking Mahavishnu Orchestra and the revolutionary indo-jazz group Shakti, and as the composer of some of the most stunning classical jazz-fusion pieces written. Through the almost four decades of his career, one constant has been his artistry as a guitarist and improviser.

There aren't many bass/piano duos more musically familiar with one another than Charlie Haden and Paul Bley. The two legends have been playing together off and on since the late 1950s. Charlie Haden's career as a sideman (Ornette Coleman, Keith Jarrett, Charles Lloyd) and as a leader (Liberation Music Orchestra, Quartet West) have made him one of the most respected jazz musicians of our time. Some of Haden's most beautiful and introspective music has appeared in his duo work (the most recent of which can be heard on Jasmine, recorded with celebrated pianist Keith Jarrett on ECM). Paul Bley, an equally innovative pianist whose recording credits range from Lester Young and Charlie Parker to John Scofield and Bill Frisell, will share the stage with Haden from Nov. 18 - 21.

John Mellencamp and his band are set to embark on the first leg of the No Better Than This Tour in late October following the August 17 release of his Rounder Records debut album, No Better Than This. Performing as part of THE TOWN HALL's Sixth Annual Broadway Cabaret Festival was Betty Buckley on Saturday, October 16th at 8:00 PM. Buckley is one of only a handful of women who can be referred to as a real Broadway star and a true legend. Tony Award winner and three-time Grammy nominee, she has acted in films, starred on television, and on Broadway. Buckley made her Broadway debut in 1969 and has been called 'The Voice of Broadway' by New York Magazine. Her rendition of 'Memory' in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats, established her reputation. She has recorded 12 solo albums and now tours extensively across the U.S. each year. She is also a composer; her first recording contains mostly songs she wrote.

BROADWAY MELODY MAKERS on Friday October 15th at 8PM, was directed by Scott Coulter, with musical direction by Ross Patterson. The cast also includes Tony Award ® winners Alice Ripley (Next to Normal, Sideshow) and Michael Cerveris (Assasins), along with Nellie McKay (Threepenny Opera), Tom Wopat (Annie Get Your Gun, A Catered Affair), and Mary Testa (Xanadu, On the Town). The concert featured songs by Jerome Kern, George Gershwin, Richard Rodgers, Cole Porter, Harold Arlen, Irving Berlin, and so many others down through the decades to the likes of Jule Styne and Cy Coleman, among others.

Lucie Arnaz (They're Playing Our Song), Sarah Uriarte Berry (A Light in the Piazza), Carole Demas (Grease), Loni Ackerman (So Long, 174th Street) and Nancy Opel (Urinetown), join the cast of The Town Hall's Broadway Originals on Sunday, October 17th at 3:00 PM.

Fresh off his September 10th appearance at the Beacon Theatre with Sonny Rollins, master percussionist Sammy Figueroa will be returning to New York City, making a rare appearance at the Iridium Jazz Club on Sunday October 17th, with his double-Grammy nominated band, The Latin Jazz Explosion.
