Outre Theatre Company Presents HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH

The Outre Theatre Company announces its final production of the 2017/18 season, the sensational Hedwig and the Angry Inch, book by John Cameron Mitchell, music and lyrics by Stephen Trask. Starring the multi-talented Mike Westrich as Hedwig and the award-winning Kat Gold as Yitzhak, Hedwig and the Angry Inch is a glorious celebration of the genderqueer and the outsider, and is a fitting capstone to Outre's sixth full season.

Christoph Eschenbach To Lead NY Philharmonic With Till Fellner In His Debut

Christoph Eschenbach will conduct the New York Philharmonic in a program of works by Austrian composers: Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 22, with Austrian pianist Till Fellner as soloist in his Philharmonic debut, and Bruckner's Symphony No. 9 (Ed. Nowak), Thursday, April 19, 2018, at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, April 21 at 8:00 p.m.; and Tuesday, April 24 at 7:30 p.m.

SUNDAY AT THE MET Programs Explore Four Exhibitions This Month

There will be three Sunday at The Met programs in March, all beginning at 2 p.m., exploring the major themes as well as the artistic legacies and traditions featured in four current exhibitions: William Eggleston: Los Alamos; Diamond Mountains: Travel and Nostalgia in Korean Art and its connection to The Poetry of Nature: Edo Paintings from the Fishbein-Bender Collection; and Golden Kingdoms: Luxury and Legacy in the Ancient Americas.  

Heinrich Biber's THE MYSTERY SONATAS Closes Houston Early Music Season

The Houston Early Music 2017-18 season will close with a momentous occasion: Heinrich Biber's daunting "The Mystery Sonatas," also known as the Rosary Sonatas, one of the most extraordinary sets of music ever written for the violin. This rare opportunity to hear the entire work, presented by four members of Boston Baroque - North America's first permanent Baroque orchestra. - will take place Saturday, May 5, at 7:30 p.m. at the Shepherd School of Music's Duncan Recital Hall at Rice University.

CONTACT! The New-Music Series, To Feature Music By Emerging Russian Composers

The ninth season of CONTACT!, the New York Philharmonic's new-music series, concludes with a co-presentation by the Philharmonic and National Sawdust in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, featuring Musicians from the New York Philharmonic performing works by emerging Russian composers: Dmitri Kourliandski's Voice-off, with vocalist Ethan Hayden in his Philharmonic debut, and the U.S. Premieres of Denis Khorov's Barcarolle, Marina Khorkova's VORderGRENZE, Alexander Khubeev's Ghost of Dystopia, conducted by Jeffrey Milarsky, and Nikolay Popov's Nibiru 20/13. Hosted by Esa-Pekka Salonen, the concert will take place on Monday, April 2, 2018, at 7:30 p.m. at National Sawdust.

The Washington Ballet Presents Three World Premieres

The Washington Ballet (TWB) is proud to present Three World Premieres by choreographers Clifton Brown, Gemma Bond and Marcelo Gomes at the Harman Center, March 14-18, 2018. Ashley Kate Adams & Jim Kierstead To Premiere ACE at Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival

The producing team of Broadway Actress/Indie Producer Ashley Kate Adams (La Cage Au Folles, The Anthem) and Broadway Producer Jim Kierstead (Kinky Boots, Indecent) will premieretheir new movie ACE at the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival on Saturday, February 24th. This short drama about sexual identity, first love and social norms that takes place among college friends, was written and directed by newcomer Jordan Gear and stars Jonathan Lipnicki, the former child actor from Jerry Maguire.

American Symphony Orchestra Performs Luigi Nono's Opera INTOLLERANZA 1960 At Carnegie Hall

Leon Botstein will lead the American Symphony Orchestra in Luigi Nono's opera Intolleranza 1960, the final performance this season in the ASO's four-concert Vanguard series, on Thursday, March 1, 8 PM at Carnegie Hall. The program is part of the series' season-long theme examining the music composers have created under varied political leaderships.

CORO Connections Releases The Eybler Quartet's Refreshing Beethoven

CORO Connections presents a new recording by the acclaimed Eybler Quartet, featuring Beethoven's first three works for string quartet, Op. 18, nos. 1-3. The Toronto-based ensemble was founded in 2004 to explore the works of the first century-and-a-half of the string quartet repertoire and plays on instruments appropriate to the period of the music it performs. The Eybler Quartet has been widely praised for their committed, lively, and energizing performances, and razor-sharp ensemble skills. Adding to their superb discography, which includes music by Mozart and Haydn as well as lesser-known composers like Vanhal and their namesake Joseph Leopold Eybler, the group's new Beethoven album will be released on March 2.
