Erik Cortes Alcántara llevará El arte del piano a la Sala Manuel M. Ponce

Organizado por la Coordinación Nacional de Música y Ópera del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura, el ciclo El arte del piano presentará a Erik Cortés Alcántara, quien el 24 de febrero a las 17:00, en la Sala Manuel M. Ponce del Palacio de Bellas Artes, compartirá una selección de obras de compositores como Giuseppe Domenico Scarlatti, Franz Joseph Haydn, Enrique Granados, entre otros.

LIFE WITH ORSON WELLES: THE MAN BEHIND THE LEGEND Docu-Series to Premiere in Berlin

Beatrice Mori di Gerfalco Welles and writer-producer-director Dax Phelan have teamed up for a six-episode original docu-series, “Life with Orson Welles: The Man Behind the Legend.” The daughter of Orson Welles and his third wife Paola Mori, Welles is a countess from an Italian noble family that dates back to 400 AD, a stage and film actress (“Chimes at Midnight,” “Don Quixote”), and the manager of the Orson Welles estate.

Bach Week Festival Announces 2019 Season

The Chicago area's Bach Week Festival has announced its 46th annual concert programs, with performances in Evanston and Chicago April 26 to May 3, 2019, featuring several Johann Sebastian Bach works never before heard at the festival; the return of pianist Sergei Babayan, praised by The New York Times for his 'consummate technique and insight'; and a first-time collaboration with gifted pre-college musicians of the Academy of the Music Institute of Chicago.

Westport Community Theatre Presents THE ROAD TO MECCA

Westport Community Theatre is currently producing Athol Fugard's powerful play, The Road to Mecca. Performances take place from February 8th through 24th todays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and at 2:00 p.m. on Sundays, with a Thursday performance on February 14th at 8:00 p.m. Ruth Anne Baumgartner directs the play, which is produced by Joan Lasprogato.

Quinn Lewis Premieres HANGING ON With Billboard

Today, Australian pop singer-songwriter Quinn Lewis debuts “Hanging On”. The new single marks his first release since signing with Arista/Small Giant Records. “Hanging On” is accompanied by an official music video directed by Nick Leopold that showcases Quinn caught between fantasy vs. reality. Featuring a swamp-like atmosphere and a '70s-styled motel room submerged in water, the video quite literally finds Quinn stuck with no way out – which is what the song is all about.  WATCH HERE ​​​​​​​

Lincoln Theater Present RENDER UNTO CAESAR: MUSIC FROM THE COURT OF LEOPOLD

Lincoln Theater is delighted to present Render Unto Caesar: Music from the Court of Leopold I, Holy Roman Emperor on January 20, 2019. This chamber music concert features the Napa Valley's own Violet Grgich performing with early music ensemble Les Violettes. American Symphony Orchestra Presents SOUNDS OF THE AMERICAN CENTURY

The American Symphony Orchestra will present Sounds of the American Century, the next concert in its Vanguard series at Carnegie Hall, on Friday, January 25 at 8 pm. The program illustrates how New York City composers of the mid-20th century sought to define a new American sensibility in orchestral music, and will be highlighted by the New York premiere of Vivian Fine's Concertante for Piano and Orchestra.

Red Bull Theater Opens Submissions for Ninth Annual Short New Play Festival

Red Bull Theater today announced that their ninth annual festival of 10-minute plays of heightened language and classic themes will feature two brand new commissions from Kia Corthron and Will Power, alongside six brand new plays chosen from hundreds of submissions from playwrights across the country. Submissions are now open through March 18, 2019.

Award-Winning Aeolus Quartet Performs Mozart Clarinet Quintet With Franklin Cohen On CMSDetroit Regional Series

The award-winning Aeolus Quartet is joined by revered clarinetist Franklin Cohen, former principal of the Cleveland Orchestra, for three concerts on the Chamber Music Society of Detroit's new regional partner series. The concerts take place Friday, January 18, 7:30 PM in the Patriot Theater at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial; Saturday, January 19, 7:30 PM at the Village Theater at Cherry Hill in Canton; and Sunday, January 20, 3:00 PM at Oakland University's Varner Recital Hall in Rochester Hills. The program features Mozart's masterful Clarinet Quintet, as well as an early Beethoven Quartet, Op. 18, No. 3 in D major, and American composer Ben Johnston's String Quartet No. 4, Variations on Amazing Grace.

Aspen Santa Fe Ballet Returns To The Soraya

Aspen Santa Fe Ballet's bold vision - top global choreographers, distinctive groundbreaking repertoire, and virtuoso dancers - has fostered a jewel of a dance company in the American West.  Now, ASFB celebrates the fourth year of its residency at the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts (The Soraya) with a program of works that celebrates the company's commitment to creating new contemporary dance on Saturday, January 19 at 8:00pm. Black Fret Announces 2018 Grant Recipients At The Fifth Annual Black Fret Ball

 This past Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, Austin nonprofit Black Fret awarded $250,000 to local musicians at the fifth annual Black Fret Ball at ACL Live at The Moody Theatre, resulting in over $1 million in grants awarded to Austin musicians over the last five years. The show featured live performances by 15 of the 20 grant nominees for 2018.

ROPE A Play By Patrick Hamilton Comes to Avery Schreiber Playhouse

Robo & Bash Productions presents ROPE, A Play by Patrick Hamilton, taking place at the Avery Schreiber Playhouse in North Hollywood. Directed by Anna Safar, this production will open December 7th, 2018, and will play Today through Sunday for two weekends, closing December 16th, 2018. Showtime todays and Saturdays will be at 8pm, and Sundays at 7pm.
