New Jersey Performing Arts Center Announces CLASSICAL 4 KIDS Concert

New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, New Jersey announces "Classical 4 Kids" where young people age 18 and under can see a participating classical show for FREE when accompanied by a full-paying adult. Kids will be enlightened Hungary's acclaimed orchestra, Budapest Festival Orchestra performing the Fifth Symphony in an all-Beethoven program, featuring pianist Richard Goode on Saturday, February 4th at 8pm.

Jeffrey Siegel Brings THE MIRACLE OF MOZART To The McCallum Theatre

The McCallum Theatre presents Jeffrey Siegel and Keyboard Conversations® in "The Miracle of Mozart" on Monday, January 23, at 7:00pm. In this special program, Mr. Siegel will be joined by the McCallum Theatre Chamber Orchestra, 36 of the best Los Angeles-based musicians. In addition to playing and speaking about Mozart and his music, Mr. Siegel will also conduct the Orchestra. The evening's program features two of Mozart's most-loved works, the C Major Concert, No. 21, K. 467 for Piano and Orchestra (Elvira Madigan) and the D Minor Concerto, No. 20, K.466 for Piano and Orchestra.

A Concert with Commentary; Jeffrey Siegel to Perform Schubert

American pianist Jeffrey Siegel has been a soloist with the world's great orchestras and has collaborated with many of the pre-eminent conductors of our time. In presenting these 'concerts with lively commentary' Mr. Siegel offers comments on the work, the composer, even the times in which the work was composed and then gives a virtuosic performance of a piano masterpiece. A lively Q&A concludes the concert. Hawaii Symphony Orchestra Presents MADE IN AMERICA

Here's one New Year's resolution that's easy to keep: Make plans to enjoy beautiful live symphonic music with your ohana and the Hawai'i Symphony Orchestra (HSO). The HSO opens 2017 with "Made In America" - a stellar afternoon of American music led by HSO Artistic Advisor Maestro JoAnn Falletta and featuring pianist William Wolfram on Sunday, January 8 at 4 pm. This matinee concert showcases great American composers of today such John Corigliano, as well as icons Gershwin and Bernstein. The centerpiece of the afternoon is Gershwin's Piano Concerto in F major. "Made In America" also features Barber's The School for Scandal Overture and John Corigliano's Phantasmagoria Suite from his opera The Ghosts of Versailles, which was first performed at the Metropolitan Opera in 1991. 

Anne Clyne Selected For Music Alive Three-Year Residency Award

Berkeley Symphony and composer Anna Clyne have been chosen from a field of 59 applicant pairs to participate in a three-year composer-orchestra residency program, Music Alive, created by the League of American Orchestras and New Music USA. Berkeley Symphony and Clyne are one of only five composer-orchestra pairs to be selected by their peers, who represent a cross-section the U.S. orchestra world.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts to Present RAVISHMENT

Kennedy Center Composer-in-Residence Mason Bates continues his reinvention of the traditional concert experience with the next event in his second season of the KC Jukebox series: the dreamlike world of Ravishment, Monday, January 30, 2017, at 7:30 p.m. in the Kennedy Center Atrium.

Cellist Ralph Kirshbaum and Pianist Shai Wosner to Release All-Beethoven Disc, Today

Internationally-renowned cellist Ralph Kirshbaum and pianist Shai Wosner release an all-Beethoven disc on the Onyx Classics label on December 9, 2016.  The duo's album, which was recorded live in London's Wigmore Hall, consists of the complete Beethoven cello sonatas and variations, to be released as a two-disc set.  Last season, Kirshbaum and Wosner performed Beethoven cycles extensively throughout the United States and Europe; the tour culminated with a performance of the complete cycle in London, recorded for Onyx Classics.  Mr. Kirshbaum and Mr. Wosner continue their performances of Beethoven's complete works for cello and piano in March, with a two-concert series at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, followed by a performance with Chamber Music Sedona in Arizona.

NYChoral Rings in the Holiday Season At Alice Tully Hall 12/21

The New York Choral Society (NYChoral) under the direction of its music director David Hayes will ring in the holiday season with a Christmas concert at Alice Tully Hall on Wednesday evening, December 21st, at 7:30 p.m. The program, featuring soloists Frederick Ballentine and Justin Hopkins, will present works by two musical giants of 20th Century American choral music, Robert Shaw, whose 100th birthday would have been this year, and Robert De Cormier, NYChoral Music Director Emeritus, who was awarded the 2016 Michael Korn Founders Award by Chorus America for his lifetime contribution to the choral arts. The concert will also include works by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Elizabeth Poston, and James MacMillan, and will end with an audience sing-along of beloved Christmas carols. Alan Gilbert and New York Philharmonic Present World Premiere of THE JUNGLE By Wynton Marsalis, 12/28

Music Director Alan Gilbert will conduct the New York Philharmonic in the World Premiere of Pulitzer Prize winner Wynton Marsalis's The Jungle (Symphony No. 4), commissioned by the Philharmonic as the first of The New York Commissions, with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis; William Bolcom's Trombone Concerto with Principal Trombone Joseph Alessi as soloist; and Copland's Quiet City, featuring Principal Trumpet Christopher Martin and English horn player Grace Shryock in her Philharmonic solo debut.

Oakland Symphony to Present LOST ROMANTIC SYMPHONIES with Kelly Hall-Tompkins

The Oakland Symphony, Michael Morgan Music Director and conductor, will be joined by guest violinist Kelly Hall-Tompkins - currently on Broadway was as the Fiddler in Fiddler on the Roof -- and members of its acclaimed Oakland Symphony Youth Orchestra for Lost Romantic Symphonies Today, November 18, at 8 pm at the Paramount Theatre.

Violin Superstar Augustin Hadelich Performs With The Hawaii Symphony Orchestra
