La MaMa to Present THE GOLEM OF HAVANA, 8/28-9/8

La MaMa E.T.C. will present the musical The Golem of Havana, a production of Columbia Stages, Palo de Agua and Theater of the Americas, August 28 through September 8, 2013 at its downtown home (74 East 4th Street, between Bowery and Second Avenue, Subway: F/M to Second Avenue). Michel Hausmann wrote the book and will direct the production, which has music by Salomon Lerner and lyrics by Len Schiff.

Tickets Now On Sale for SIGNS OF LIFE at Victory Gardens Theater

SIGNS OF LIFE, A Tale of Terezin, is thrilled to announce that individual tickets are now on sale for its Chicago premiere this fall at the Zacek McVay Theater at Victory Gardens Theater (2433 N Lincoln Ave). SIGNS OF LIFEwill play Chicago for a limited six week engagement September 18 - October 27, 2013.

SIGNS OF LIFE Gets Staged Reading at American University Tonight

Snap-Two Productions, Inc. and LimanAde Productions in association with Issembert Productions, Inc. will present a staged reading of the new drama with music, Signs of Life, at American University in the Katzen Arts Center Studio Theatre tonight, June 1 at 7:00 P.M. and June 2 at 1:00 P.M. The performances will feature American University alumni, current students and a student from BRAVO@KAT, the children's wing of Kensington Arts Theatre. This is the first academic production of Signs of Life.

Beginning Saturday, January 8, L.A. Theatre Works' Radio Theatre Series will air Awake and Sing! by Clifford Odets, starring Mark Ruffalo, Jane Kaczmarek, Ben Gazzara, Richard Kind, Emily Bergl, Peter Smith, Jonathan Hadary, Peter Kybart and Raphael Sbarge.

SIGNS OF LIFE Pens Open Letter to NY Post's Podhoretz

Amas Musical Theatre's production of 'Signs of Life' was recently mentioned in a New York Times article in which the composer Joel Derfner spoke about the piece's relevance to today's society. In response to that article, John Podhoretz, a columnist for New York Post and Commentary magazine wrote the piece below - to which the team behind 'Signs of Life' replied to with their own open letter.
