Buzz has been building for the Wizard of Oz all season, thanks in part to the fantastic CBC reality show 'Over the Rainbow', which allowed the Canadian public to vote for the young lady they wanted to portray Dorothy. On Thursday morning members of Toronto's media were invited to the rehearsal space for Mirvish Production's All-Canadian production of The Wizard of Oz. The special 'sneak peek' event showcased two production numbers from the show, and was a chance for the cast to meet and greet the press for the first time since they were announced in November. Stage West Dinner theatre offers a downsized version of the Tony winning Broadway hit. Where it works it is due to the strength of the material and the commitment of the performers. The result is still funny and entertaining, but will leave some wondering what all the hullabaloo was about when the show played on Broadway.
