The Kennedy Center presents the world premiere Kennedy Center production of Locomotion which runs October 23-31, 2010 in the Family Theater. Co-commissioned with the Orlando Repertory Theatre, Newbery Honor Award-winning author Jacqueline Woodson adapts her book Locomotion into a family play. Locomotion is directed by Jennifer L. Nelson and the production is recommended for audiences aged nine and up.
K2 Makes LA Premiere At The Underground Theater, Opens 10/9

The Los Angeles premiere of K2, written by Patrick Meyers and directed by Damen Scranton, will play two lower-priced previews at the Underground Theater in Hollywood on Thursday, October 7 and Friday, October 8 at 8pm, and opening is set for Saturday, October 9, 2010, at 8pm. K2 will play a strictly limited engagement through Sunday, November 14.

The 17th Annual Merritt Award for Excellence in Design and Collaboration program, posthumously honoring and celebrating the work of lighting and set designer Michael Philippi (Desire Under the Elms, Death of a Salesman), 'an esteemed longtime collaborator and friend', will take place on Monday, May 3, at the Goodman Theatre.

Legendary costume designer ALBERT WOLSKY and world renowned scenic designer MING CHO LEE are among the 2010 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards recipients. The awards will be presented at a ceremony on Friday, April 23 at 6:30pm at the Hudson Theatre (145 West 44th Street). Two-time Academy Award-winner Albert Wolsky will receive the 2010 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award for costume design, and Tony Award-winning scenic designer and educator Ming Cho Lee will receive the TDF/Irene Sharaff Robert L.B. Tobin Award for Sustained Excellence in Theatrical Design.
