Following a record-breaking year of success for female and trans* playwrights, LA-based playwright/producer collective THE KILROYS has released its second annual LIST of industry-recommended new plays.

The Ensemble Studio Theatre Marathon of One-Act Plays, the original festival of its kind, returns for its 35th incarnation, tonight, May 13, at 7:00pm at the Ensemble Studio Theatre, 549 West 52nd Street.

Classic Stage Company with terraNOVA Collective in association with The Public Theater, will present two-time Obie Award-winning actress Kathryn Grody in Falling Apart….Together for four evenings in April at CSC (136 East 13th Street). In this one-woman show, Grody strives to be the predictable anchor among rambunctious sons, big personalities, and clashes between who you thought you would grow up to be and who you have become. This brilliant and explosively emotional new one-woman show is as brutally funny as it is brutally honest about what it means to be alive and present in the chaos of today's domestic possibilities. Written by Grody and directed by Timothy Near, Falling Apart…Together will be performed April 19, 20, 26 and 27 only.

Samuel French has announced the six winning plays from the Samuel French Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival (OOB Festival), the nation's premiere short play competition, which concluded on Sunday, August 10th at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre.

Direction by Liz Carlson (The Playwrights Realm's Lottie in the Late Afternoon), Matt Dickson (INTAR's The Lowest Form of Writing), John Giampietro (EST's Year of the Rooster), and Jesse Jou (Rising Circle Theater Collectives's Say You Heard My Echo). The plays of the Smackdown are produced by Alyssa Anderson, Ying Le, Greg Nobile, Meghan Pressman, and Lico Whitfield.

As part of the company's 8th season, downtown theatre company The Amoralists will present full-length readings of 7 new plays at 'AmoralFEST 2014: Revengeance.' AmoralFEST is an annually curated series of public readings of full-length plays, portions of which The Amoralists have, over the course of the last season, read in AmoraLAB, the company's monthly(ish) experiment that hands their actors over to promising playwrights and their provocative new plays.

New Georges' 22nd production year will spotlight on The New Georges Jam ON TOAST at Dixon Place, a new play festival that will feature work by the New Georges Jam, a "performance gym" for early-career playwrights and directors founded at New Georges in 2010 by Lucy Alibar(Beasts of the Southern Wild), Jess Chayes (HOME/SICK) and Portia Krieger (Eager to Lose). The New Georges Jam ON TOAST will feature 19 Jammers past and present - including two playwrights receiving their first New York productions. But first New Georges will kick things off with The 1st George Sand Invitational One-Minute Play Festival, the first all-women edition of the nationwide One-Minute Play Festival, January 13th & 14th at INTAR Theatre, featuring one-minute plays by over 50 female playwrights. The '14 season will also feature a special collaboration between New Georges and Barnard College in March, New Plays at Barnard, which will bring downtown artists and the new-play experience to students at Barnard and Columbia.

terraNOVA Collective has announced the six talented playwrights selected, from a record-breaking number of submissions, for the 2014 Groundbreakers Playwrights Group, a unique playwriting intensive for these individuals to collaborate and cultivate work, meeting once a week for 18 weeks. The artists are ALEXANDRA COLLIER (We Play for the Gods), STEVE DiUBALDO (Coyote and the Origin of Death), SUKARI JONES (The River Is Me), BOO KILLEBREW (co-founder of CollaborationTown), JORDAN SEAVEY (co-Artistic Director CollaborationTown), and MFONISO UDOFIA (2013 Sundance Theatre Lab Resident Playwright and a 2013 Summer Yale Resident).

Julian Christopher (Man Boobs), directed by Jose Zayas (Resident Director Repertorio Espanol). ANIMALS COMMIT SUICIDE by J. Julian Christopher is part of terraNOVA Rx, four workshop productions, including DEATH FOR SYDNEY BLACK by Leah Nanako Winkler, playing in repertory as part of their 11th Season. ANIMALS COMMIT SUICIDE will play a two week limited engagement from Sunday, December 1st through Sunday, December 15th, 2013 at IRT Theater (located in the Archive Building at 154 Christopher St, New York). Opening Night is Saturday, December 7.

Julian Christopher, Richard Lovejoy & Eric Meyer, Mariah MacCarthy, Mac Rogers, Leah Nanako Winkler and Natalie Zutter, with a robot sex song cycle by Nat Cassidy. The festival is set for today, November 5-10 at the Secret Theatre in Long Island City.

The Season will include World Premiere and New York Premiere productions and commences in September, at IRT Theater, with the launch of soloNOVA Arts presenting WILL WORK FOR, Dacyl Acevedo's one-woman tour-de-force which premiered in last season's soloNOVA Festival and SEXLESS IN THE BOROUGHS by Colleen O'Connor, a co-production with The Glass Eye led by Kyle Metzger and Jared Weber. Due to popular demand, The Flea Theater is extending of the World Premiere of a cautionary tail by christopher oscar peña. a cautionary tail is a play of impossible choices set in a world of magical characters. First generation Chinese-Americans growing up in New York City, Vivienne and Luke confront a confused tangle of family, a diverse array of friends, and their rampant sexuality. In our digital age, how can they navigate the traditional expectations of their mother with their American culture of individuality?

The Flea Theater will present the world premiere of a cautionary tale by playwright christopher oscar peña. Directed by Flea Resident Director Benjamin H. Kamine (Thomas Bradshaw's Job), previews begin May 29 with opening night set for June 10.
