Victory Gardens Theater kicks off its 2013-14 season with the Co-World Premiere of Appropriateby Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, directed by Gary Griffin. Appropriate is presented in association with Actors Theatre of Louisville and was developed, in part, by IGNITION 2012. Appropriate runs November 8-December 8, with the press performance on November 15, 2013, at Victory Gardens Biograph Theatre, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue.

Pavement Group will develop and produce the world premiere 'Harry & the Thief' at The Den Theatre tonight, October 10 - November 10, 2013, written by emerging playwright Sigrid Gilmer and directed by Krissy Vanderwarker, Co-Artistic Director of Dog & Pony Theatre Company. An audacious historical time travel play about Harriet Tubman, 'Harry & the Thief' is chock full of Bruckheimer-worthy dialogue and slapstick humor - think 'Django Unchained' meets 'Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure'.

Victory Gardens Theater announces the first play of its 2013-14 Season: the Co-World Premiere of Appropriate by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins,directed by Gary Griffin. Steppenwolf Theatre Company is proud to announce casting for the upcoming eighth annual First Look Repertory of New Work, featuring three developmental productions of new plays presented in rotating repertory July 29 - August 25, 2013 in the Garage Theatre (1624 N Halsted St). First Look 2013 includes: Buena Vista by Edith Freni, The Gospel of Franklin by Aaron Carter and Annie Bosh is Missing by Janine Nabers. The 2013 festival also features readings of three new plays during Professionals' Weekend (August 8 - 11), including Tempo by Mike Batistick, Your Name Will Follow You Home by Carlos Murillo and BARBECUE by Robert O'Hara. American Theater Company Opens columbinus, 2/1

American Theater Company announces the world premiere of the revised version of columbinus, written by Stephen Karam and PJ Paparelli, with dramaturgy by Patricia Hersch, and conceived and directed by Artistic Director PJ Paparelli. The 2013 production will premiere material devised from recent interviews with survivors of the Columbine High School Shootings, families of victims and residents of Littleton, Colorado. The new material includes never-before-released information on the shooters and their families and first-hand accounts of both the Columbine and Aurora shootings. columbinus will run February 1 - March 10, 2013, at American Theater Company, 1909 W Byron St, Chicago, IL. Press opening is Wednesday, February 6, at 7:00 pm.

The performance schedule is Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 4 p.m. Preview performance tickets are $15 with performances Thursday, Oct. 4 and Friday, Oct. 5 at 8 p.m. There is a benefit preview performance, Saturday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m., $50 tickets include access to post-performance reception. Opening/Press Night is Sunday, Oct. 7 at 4 p.m. Tickets are $28 with group, senior and student discounts available. Thursday, Oct. 11 at 8 p.m. is an industry performance where available tickets are $10 for people presenting resumes or headshots.
