Tony Award-winning Broadway and West End icon Lea Salonga takes on a modern musical theatre classic in the form of a sparkling ballad from Jason Robert Brown's acclaimed cult musical THE LAST FIVE YEARS in a new performance clip just released.

BroadwayWorld.com confirmed exclusively back in December 2012 that a highly anticipated revival of the mega-musical 'Miss Saigon' was in the works by producer Cameron Mackintosh with auditions taking place for the lead role of 'Kim' (a part created by Lea Salonga). Today, Michael Riedel reports in the New York Post that the show will open in 2014, likely in Mackintosh's Prince Edward Theatre (currently home to 'Jersey Boys'). Riedel also confirms our previous reports that directing the revival will be Laurence Connor, who also co-directed the revival of 'Les Miserables' that is now touring and which will hit Broadway in 2014.

STAGES ST. LOUIS is thrilled to announce new staff appointments to STAGES' Turley Performing Arts Academy. Broadway Veteran, Vince Pesce will assume the position of Director of Education at STAGES Kent Center for Theatre Arts, the new state-of-the-art facility, effective immediately. Pesce replaces longtime Education Director Rob Grumich, who will remain during the transition through July. Also, Tali Allen Liddell will become the Manager of Community Programs and Partnerships.

The Philippine television version of hit reality show 'The Voice' from Talpa Media Group, features Broadway veteran Lea Salonga in the judges panel along with Apl. de. ap of Black Eyed Peas, Bamboo Mañalac, and Sarah Geronimo. Below, check out a clip of Salonga in action!

Hearing the heavenly voices of Lea Salonga, Ramin Karimloo, Yu Shirota, and Sierra Boggess in '4 Stars: One World of Broadway Musicals' concert was an enchanting treat on our first day--and also our first visit--in Japan.

Putting together on one stage Lea Salonga, Ramin Karimloo, and Sierra Boggess sounds such a completely stellar idea; but, when examined closely, it is quite tricky. Given the varied theater credits under their names, one would have to carefully consider what type of show--in a concert form--would showcase their vocal abilities in a way that they need not upstage one another. To make things more interesting, or complicated, what if you would include Japan's very own TV and theater star Yu Shirota in the already mixed bag of performers? How will he fit in?
