McCarter Theatre Center is pleased to announce its 2013-2014 roster of world-renowned artists on its 2013-14 Presenting Series. During the upcoming season, McCarter will present over 40 performances by world-class performing artists curated by Special Programming Director William W. Lockwood. Mr. Lockwood has been responsible for McCarter's special programming for over 50 years, and remains the senior arts presenter in the country. Additional performances will be added throughout the season.
There have been a number of changes and additions to the programme for Edinburgh Festival 2013 since the launch in March. The Festival has announced the casts for Gate Theatre Dublin's productions of Eh Joe and First Love.

Through her studies, she found she loved Billie Holliday and Brazilian rock as much as Maria Callas. Upon arrival at age 19 in Rome to study opera, her musical influences came together and led her back to a greater appreciation of classic Brazilian music.
Kronos Quartet celebrates its 40th anniversary and launches a fifth decade of innovation and exploration with an impressive array of projects and special events during its 2013-14 season. The milestone will be marked by a weeklong residency at Lincoln Center, coast-to-coast birthday concerts, a host of premieres, a Nonesuch CD boxed set, and performances around the globe. During the coming season, the Grammy-winning Quartet and its nonprofit Kronos Performing Arts Association will unveil more than a dozen commissioned works by the likes of Philip Glass, Bryce Dessner (of The National), Aleksandra Vrebalov, Dan Deacon, Mary Kouyoumdjian, David T. Little, and others, plus two film scores and a volume of commissioned works published by Boosey & Hawkes.
The Parrish Art Museum, founded in 1898, opened the doors of its new, 34,400-square-foot Herzog & de Meuron-designed, building in November of 2012. The new Parrish includes 12,200 square feet of exhibition space—three times that of the Museum's former home on Jobs Lane in Southampton. Seven sky-lit galleries devoted to the permanent collection showcase the story of America's most enduring and influential artists' colony—Eastern Long Island.

BERNINA of America, the world's premier manufacturer of sewing, embroidery and quilting machines, has announced the winners of its Fabric Design Contest on Pinterest, which ran April 1 to April 22. Entries were required to be original fabric designs, created by aspiring designers who do not already have a fabric line. Winners were selected based on originality, creativity, visual appeal and versatility by BERNINA's celebrity judges: Amanda Murphy, Tula Pink, Mimi Goodwin, Vanessa Christenson and Angie Steveson. EXPO 1: New York, an exploration of ecological challenges in the context of the economic and socio-political instability of the early 21st century opens at MoMA PS1, The Museum of Modern Art, and Rockaway Beach. Acting in the guise of a festival-as-institution, EXPO 1: New York imagines a contemporary art museum dedicated to ecological concerns, presenting a simultaneity of modules, interventions, solo projects, and group exhibitions including a school, a colony, a cinema, a geodesic dome, Rain Room, and more. As part of its 40th Anniversary year, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC) unveils the 2013 edition of the annual River To River Festival, Downtown's completely free summer arts festival. This year's edition takes place June 15-July 14 and presents a diverse collection of music, dance, theater, visual art, film and unique participatory experiences by both renowned and breakout artists from New York City and beyond.
