Disney Theatrical Productions and Broadway in Cincinnati present Disney's THE LION KING at the Aronoff Center stage tonight, March 31 for a limited engagement of 4 weeks through Sunday, April 26.

Following the success of dedicated Autism-Friendly Performances in 2013 and 2014, a third dedicated performance of Disney's THE LION KING has been announced for Sunday 30 August 2015 at 1:30pm. Tickets are now on sale.

On Monday night, March 22nd, an all-star line-up of Broadway performers united to honor legendary composer, Stephen Sondheim. The evening celebrated the journey of Woods and Sondheim from stage to screen. Garth Fagan, Tony Award winner for 'Best Choreography' in The Lion King, founder and artistic director of Garth Fagan Dance, is receiving the Apple Award from Wayne State University's Maggie Allesee Department of Theatre and Dance. 'A Conversation with Apple Award Recipient Garth Fagan' will be hosted at the Berman Center for the Performing Arts tonight, March 28 at 7:00 p.m. Mr. Fagan will appear in an 'actors studio' style interview and question-and-answer session.

Stoneham Theatre has announced its production of the critically-acclaimed dark comedy Neville's Island, by the multi-award-winning writer of Calendar Girls, Tim Firth. Performances run from April 9-26, 2015. Neville's Island premiered in 1992 at the Stephen Joseph Theatre in North Yorkshire, UK. In 1995, it was nominated for the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Comedy and won Best Play MEN Awards in 2006. It received its North American Premiere in New Mexico at Santa Fe Stages in 1996. Neville's Island was adapted for television in 1998, airing as a TV movie on the UK's ITV. Directed by Stoneham Theatre's Producing Artistic Director Weylin Symes, Neville's Island features an impressive island set, complete with water and a climbable tree, by Scenic Designer Chris Ostrom.

Theatre legend and film director Kenneth Branagh may be returning to direct another Marvel movie.

He has also gained a number of honours, including a knighthood in 1992, followed by a peerage from the British Government for services to Music, seven Tony Awards, three Grammy Awards, an Academy Award, fourteen Ivor Novello Awards, seven Olivier Awards, a Golden Globe Award, and the Kennedy Center Honors in 2006. Houston, March 12, 2015—Houston Grand Opera (HGO) will present its highly anticipated La Fura dels Baus staging of Wagner's Die Walküre with an all-star cast and Stephen Sondheim's thrilling Sweeney Todd in April, after notching critical and sales successes with its winter productions of Puccini's Madame Butterfly and Mozart's The Magic Flute. Butterfly's six performances averaged a total capacity of 102% (including resale of returned seats) while Flute's five performances averaged 104% capacity.
