MET's Fun Company Presents THE STAR STEALER, Now thru 6/29

Maryland Ensemble Theatre's (MET) family theatre, The Fun Company, will present the final show of its 2013-14 season, the World Premiere of The Star Stealer. Written by MET ensemble member, Caitlin Joy, and directed by fellow ensemble member Vanessa Strickland, the show hopes to capture audiences by creating entire universes out of only 6 actors and a collection of objects. The playwright is excited to share her new work; 'Vanessa has a fantastic vision for this show and the cast and crew are top notch, so it's bound to be a great performance. The laughs and the lessons are for audiences of all ages. And live theatre is always its own adventure!' The show will run from today, June 7 through June 29 at MET.

Comedy Pigs Present New Sketch Show at Maryland Ensemble Theatre Tonight

The Comedy Pigs, Maryland Ensemble Theatre's (MET) hilarious improv troupe are back in 2014 with a shiny new primetime sketch show! It's a brand new year with the same old problems: Find a job, pay your bills, make time to give a little back, and try not to do irreparable emotional damage to the ones you love - or would like to love. The Comedy Pigs feel your pain, and then twist it to their own fiendish but entirely entertainment-based purposes.

Maryland Ensemble Theatre Announces New Schedule of Classes

Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) is proud to announce its schedule of classes for The Ensemble School's upcoming semester. Taught by working actors and directors, The Ensemble School is a training ground for professional and aspiring actors of all skill levels with classes for students from age seven to adult. All classes are 12-week sessions that begin on or after February 11, meet once a week and are limited to 12 students. All classes are held at Maryland Ensemble Theatre located in the historic FSK Hotel at 31 W Patrick Street in downtown Frederick.

Comedy Pigs Reveal Upcoming 21st Season

The Comedy Pigs, Maryland Ensemble Theatre's (MET) hilarious improv troupe are returning for their 21st season with 22 performances including a shiny new sketch show. Since the Comedy Pigs debuted in 1993, they have performed over 500 shows including nationwide improv festivals, have been featured on Comedy Central and have been guests at the National Pork Producers Convention. The upcoming 21st season promises plenty of laughs with some new twists and audience favorites.

Taught by working actors and directors, The Ensemble School is a training ground for professional and aspiring actors of all skill levels with classes for students from age seven to adult. All classes are 12-week sessions that begin on or after September 9, meet once a week and are limited to 12 students. All classes are held at Maryland Ensemble Theatre located in the historic FSK Hotel at 31 W Patrick Street in downtown Frederick. 'We provide a safe and productive training ground for actors of all ages -- a place where they can take risks and learn the skills they'll need for a life on the stage', said Gene Fouche, the Director of The Ensemble School.

The Comedy Pigs Celebrate 20th Anniversary

Twenty years ago on this day, April 3, 1993, one hundred and six ticket holders crammed into the Olde Town Tavern back room for the very first Comedy Pigs show! The Comedy Pigs, Maryland Ensemble Theatre'ssketch and improv troupe, is still going strong all these years later. After twenty years they think they've finally got the hang of it but you can be the judge at their next shows on April 13 and 20 at 10:30pm. The April shows will follow the main stage show, Finally Heard: Feminine Heroes of an Uncivil War. This will be troupe members Carly Ball, Gary Baker, Courtney McLaughlin, Chris 'C-Mo' Molloy, Anne Raugh, Franky Russell, Jeff Schnorr, Laura Stark and Julie Williams only two performances in April.

The Comedy Pigs Add 3/16 Show

The Comedy Pigs, Maryland Ensemble Theatre's sketch and improv troupe, have added a show to their schedule. The new show will follow Truthpaste: A Blotto Biography, MET's Artistic Director's Tad Janes' one-man show on March 16. The 8pm performance of Truthpaste will be followed by a 10pm Comedy Pigs improv show. The Comedy Pigs are in the midst of celebrating their 20th Anniversary Season. This will be troupe members Carly Ball, Gary Baker, Courtney McLaughlin, Chris 'C-Mo' Molloy, Anne Raugh, Franky Russell, Jeff Schnorr, Laura Stark and Julie Williams only performance in March.

The Comedy Pigs, Maryland Ensemble Theatre's sketch and improv troupe, return to late night at the MET, following their successful prime-time sketch shows in January. In the midst of celebrating their 20th Anniversary Season, troupe members Carly Ball, Gary Baker, Courtney McLaughlin, Chris 'C-Mo' Molloy, Anne Raugh, Franky Russell, Jeff Schnorr,Laura Stark and Julie Williams will bring the funny tonight, February 16 and 23 at 10:30pm following performances of The Glass Menagerie.

Comedy Pigs New Sketch Show Set for Now thru 1/19

Disappointed the world didn't come to an end? The Comedy Pigs feel your pain. The Comedy Pigs, Maryland Ensemble Theatre's sketch and improv troupe, normally found playing late night at the MET, are taking the stage at 8pm for two weekends in January with a sketch show that completely ignores the larger issues of the day and focuses on those petty, annoying little incidents that lead us to fantasize about the Apocalypse.
