The complete cast for the hotly anticipated upcoming NBC live TV presentation of Rodgers & Hammerstein's classic family-friendly musical THE SOUND OF MUSIC has now been officially announced.

NBC has just released the full cast list and you can check it out below:

On Dec. 3 Sony Masterworks will release the companion soundtrack to NBC's live broadcast of 'The Sound of Music,' based on the classic stage musical. The three-hour live production, starring six-time Grammy Award winner Carrie Underwood as Maria von Trapp, will air Dec. 5. This week the team is recording THE SOUND OF MUSIC cast album. Williamstown Theatre Festival just opened the sixth production of the 2013 Main Stage season: The World Premiere musical, The Bridges of Madison County, on the Main Stage. This Tuesday, January 29th, Broadway Sessions will celebrate the birthday of theatrical manager Michael Einfeld with a special concert featuring performances from his clients and friends.

Hamish Jenkinson, The Old Vic Tunnels' Artistic Director and Douglas Mclannet, its Administrative Director, flew in from London to attend the Sept. 6th premiere of "Damascus Square" at the United Nations. In front of a VIP crowd of Ambassadors, producer Richard Frankel, Ira and Inge Rennert, among others, Hamish took the stage post performance and said that the Old Vic Tunnels is committed to staging "Damascus Square" in the coming season.

A concert of the new musical "Damascus Square" will be performed at the United Nations on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 5:30 pm.

The Public Theater's production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's INTO THE WOODS, part of The Public's 50th Anniversary season at the Delacorte, opened on August 9th and stars Donna Murphy, Amy Adams, Denis O'Hare, Jessie Mueller and Chip Zien. The Public Theater's production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's INTO THE WOODS, part of The Public's 50th Anniversary season at the Delacorte opened last week, August 9th to mixed reveiews from critics. Now according to the New York Times, the show is still 'pursuing a possible Broadway transfer.' Producer Joey Parnes is currently working to bring the show to Broadway in late winter or spring of 2013.
