The Chicago Cabaret Professionals 2022 Annual Gala, held on October 17 at the Epiphany Center for the Arts in Chicago, showcased the diversity, resilience and artistry of the Chicago cabaret community that includes singers, musicians, directors, producers and fans. 

The annual Chicago Cabaret Professionals Gala is one of the most celebrated cabaret events of the year — and this year’s gala, scheduled for Monday, October 17, will feature over 25 local and national cabaret artists performing songs from the Great American Songbook as well as jazz, blues, and pop tunes. 

After two years of producing their annual galas online, due to the pandemic, Chicago Cabaret Professionals will hold their 2022 Gala in-person at Epiphany Center for the Arts on Monday, October 17. 

This Spring, Chicago Cabaret Professionals is presenting two unique concerts — Musical Mondays — that showcase the talents of more than 25 local cabaret artists. The all-ages concerts will be at Szold Hall, Old Town School of Folk Music, in Chicago's Lincoln Square neighborhood. 

Chicago Cabaret Professionals will present new online series that combines interviews and performances by cabaret veterans and new performers. Cabaret Beat – Music & Conversationwill be hosted by singer/actor Wydetta Carter, and will feature two artists each week for the half hour show. 

The full-list of nominees for the 52nd NAACP Image Awards were announced today in a special virtual event on NAACP Image Awards’ Instagram channel hosted by Tony-award winning actress and singer Anika Noni-Rose, actress and singer Chloe Bailey, actress Erika Alexander, actor, dancer, and choreographer Nicco Annan, and actor and singer TC Carson.

On November 16, 2019, the Auditorium Theatre continues its 130th anniversary season with a salute to the living legend Stephen Sondheim in a one-night-only event, directed and produced by local cabaret star Joan Curto.

The nominees for the 50th NAACP Image Awards were exclusively announced today at the Television Critics Association's (TCA) TV One's joint press conference with Derrick Johnson, President and CEO of the NAACP and Alfred Liggins, Chairman and CEO of TV One. The winners will be revealed during the Two-Hour LIVE TV special airing on TV One on Saturday, March 30, 2019.

Representatives from Word of South Festival announced the 2018 lineup of performers at a special event held at Tallahassee's Fifth and Thomas. Now in its fourth year, Word of South is a three-day festival celebrating the connection between music and literature. Audiences of all ages can visit eight stages across Cascades Park for a series of performances by nationally-renowned authors and musicians completely free of charge. Word of South is the only event in the nation to pair authors and musicians as they explore the powerful blend of the disciplines.

The Triple Bill of THE ILLUSTRATED FAREWELL/THE WIND/UNTOUCHABLE runs at the Royal Opera House through November 17.

Girls Like Us is inspired by the book of the same name by Sheila Weller and features performers Laura Freeman, Beckie Menzie and Marianne Murphy Orland.  Tickets for Girls Like Us go on sale to the public Tuesday, March 7 at 10 a.m. through the OCP box office.
