David H. Bell to Direct Annual Northwestern Student Production For First Time

Diehard Waa-Mu fans can expect some changes when the curtain rises on Northwestern University's 80th anniversary stage production of the acclaimed student revue that has featured Tony Award-winning actress and Grammy Award-winning singer Heather Headley and Tony and Drama Desk Award winning-Broadway composer Larry Grossman.

TheatreWorks, the nationally-acclaimed theatre of Silicon Valley, has announced the line-up for its 2010-2011 season. Founding Artistic Director Robert Kelley and Managing Director Phil Santora announced a 41st season that will include three world premieres (bringing the company's total to 56); three regional premieres including the newest play by the author of AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY, Broadway's quirky hit musical about writers writing a quirky hit musical and a spell-binding mystery about a Japanese-American veteran charged with murder; and two Broadway favorites. The company will once again lead off with an extensive New Works Festival.

Due to overwhelming response at the Box Office, TheatreWorks, the nationally acclaimed theatre of Silicon Valley is thrilled to extend A CHRISTMAS MEMORY with two additional performances: 2pm December 23 and 7pm December 24. A gloriously tuneful world premiere musical from a team of celebrated Broadway veterans, Truman Capote's enchanting holiday tale A CHRISTMAS MEMORY springs to life at TheatreWorks. A collaboration between Duane Poole (book), Larry Grossman (music), Carol Hall (lyrics), and Steve Orich (orchestrations), and starring Emmy Award-winning and Tony Award-nominated actress Penny Fuller, this whimsical new show is a wistful memoir of cherished youth chronicling a young boy's loving friendship with an eccentric elderly relative. With TheatreWorks Founding Artistic Director Robert Kelley at the helm, A CHRISTMAS MEMORY plays December 1-26 (press opening December 4) at TheatreWorks at Lucie Stern Theatre in Palo Alto. Theatre for Young America will present The Dinosaur Play by Steve and Kathy Hotchner for its opening show of the 2010-11 season. Harold and the Purple Crayon, which was to open the season, will be postponed until the following year.
