Micki Grant Receives 2009 Paul Robeson Award

Actors' Equity Association has announced that Micki Grant, a multi-award winning actor, composer-lyricist and playwright, is the recipient of the 2009 Paul Robeson Award. The award will be presented on Oct. 9, 2009 at the General Membership Meeting at Actor's Equity Association's headquarters in New York City.

California Shakespeare Theater Announces its 2010 Season

California Shakespeare Theater Artistic Director Jonathan Moscone today announced his plans for his 10th anniversary season, which includes the company's first world premiere in more than 25 years, a return to the provocative comedy of George Bernard Shaw, and brand-new productions featuring two of Shakespeare's most intriguing couples.

THE BACCHAE will run August 11-August 30 at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park with an official press opening on Monday, August 24 at 8 p.m. Bank of America returns as lead sponsor of Shakespeare in the Park 2009.

Anthony Mackie (The Hurt Locker) will play the lead role of Pentheus joining George Bartenieff as Cadmus; André De Shields as Teiresias; Jonathan Groff as Dionysus; Karen Kandel as Chorus Leader; Joan MacIntosh as Agave; Steven Rishard as Cowherd; and Rocco Sisto as Messenger.
