GAME OF THRONES' Charles Dance to Join CSO on European Tour

Charles Dance, OBE, will join Louis Langree and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra on their 2017 European tour. The 'Game of Thrones' actor will lend his talents to narrating Copland's extraordinary orchestral work 'Lincoln Portrait'.

Director Lee Blakeley Passes Away Age 45

Lee Blakeley, director of opera, musical theatre and theatre has died at the age of 45 of a heart attack. Lee was born in Yorkshire and studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and at the University of Glasgow, graduating with the prize for directing.

Additionally, MTV will add to its diverse legacy with the launch of the digital series 'No ID Required' on Monday, June 6th.

San Francisco Opera to Present SWEENEY TODD for the First Time This Fall

Stephen Sondheim's macabre musical thriller Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street receives its highly anticipated San Francisco Opera premiere in a production featuring a cast of notable operatic stars and performed with Sondheim's original score for the lyric stage.

DHEEPAN, SAUL FIA (SON OF SAUL), and More Win Awards at Cannes Film Festival

The 68th annual Cannes Film Festival was held from 13 to 24 May 2015. Joel and Ethan Coen were announced as the Presidents of the Jury for the main competition. It is the first time that two people will chair the jury. Since the Coen brothers will each get a separate vote, they were joined by seven other jurors to form the customary nine-juror panel. Wareham are thrilled to present screen legend Leslie Caron, in her first Southern California theatrical performance in over 25 years! SIX DANCE LESSONS IN SIX WEEKS, written by Richard Alfieri, with choreography by Donna McKechnie (A Chorus Line) and directed by Michael Arabian (Waiting for Godot). SIX DANCE LESSONS IN SIX WEEKS will also feature 6-time Ovation Award-winning actor David Engel. 'What an honor to have on our stage the incomparable Leslie Caron and the multi-talented David Engel,' remarks Wood. 'It's a dream cast and a dream come true. With Michael Arabian and Donna McKechnie directing and choreographing, this has to be one of the most anticipated productions in the Playhouse's storied history,' adds Wareham. Susan Graham Presents a U.S. Recital Tour, SCULPTING SOUND at The Met Museum, and THE KING & I

Grammy Award-winning mezzo-soprano Susan Graham launches a four-date U.S. recital tour tomorrow with pianistBradley Moore in Myrtle Beach, SC, with the trek including the singer's Kimmel Center recital debut in Philadelphia on April 2. The recital program of Purcell, Berlioz, Poulenc and Cole Porter will be drawn from Graham's second Onyx album,Virgins, Vixens & Viragos. In a review of the recording, the UK's Sunday Times noted: “It's hard to think of another contemporary singer who could pull off the tour de force Graham achieves here, with numbers ranging over a period of almost 300 years.” Back in New York on April 26, Graham will perform a special concert at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium. The program – titled “Sculpting Sound” and held in conjunction with the exhibitionThe Passions of Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux – will feature the music of the 19th-century French sculptor's friends and collaborators, including Bizet, Gounod and more. Graham will be joined by pianist Brian Zeger (director of the Juilliard Vocal Arts Department), as well as by bass-baritone Evan Hughes and soprano Layla Claire. This summer, Graham will cap her season in Paris by making her role debut as Anna in The King and I at the Théâtre du Châtelet (June 13-29).
