Summer is on its way out, but Connecticut theaters are heating up with some exciting offerings this fall. Theater lovers have the best of both worlds here in the Nutmeg State: Broadway is just down the road, but we never even have to leave home to see exceptional theater thanks to the bevy of professional theaters that call Connecticut home too. This season looks particularly exciting and I'll share with you what I am most looking forward to reviewing this fall. There are other great shows scheduled this fall as well as through the 2016 season, but in the interest of space, I will concentrate on top picks for this fall.

On August 22nd from 2PM to 4:30PM in New York City, Robert Peterpaul Productions produced a special 'Musical Theatre Audition Technique Class with Marissa Perry.' The event was a part of RPP's 'Personable', a series of workshops that aims to assist aspiring talent in honing their craft and polishing their audition skills.

Rubicon's Broadway Musical Concert Series continues with three performances of a concert reading of THE SECRET GARDEN (based on the novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett with Lyrics by Marsha Norman and Music by Lucy Simon.

Theatre Or* will present the regional premiere of the new musical comedy, My Mother's Lesbian Jewish Wiccan Wedding, by the husband and wife team of David Hein and Irene Carl Sankoff, at the Soiled Dove Underground in Lowry, opening October 3 and continuing through November 8. Records, raids, and riveting drama take the stage for this sizzling production, playing March 17-April 5, 2015. Directed by D. Lynn Meyers.

The show is created by Aitor Basauri, Zachary Fine and Lucas Caleb Rooney, performed by Zachary Fine and Lucas Caleb Rooney, directed by Aitor Basauri (founding member of Spy Monkey theatre company), choreography by Caroline Fermin (company member of Galim Dance) and puppets by Annie Worden.
