Theater professionals from across Michigan will gather Aug. 28 when The 2017 Wilde Awards are presented at The Berman Center for the Performing Arts in the Detroit suburb of West Bloomfield.

2016 Wilde Awards Honor Best Productions and Performances of Michigan's 2015-16 Season

It was another Wilde night at West Bloomfield's Berman Center for the Performing Arts, as Michigan's professional theater community came together for The 15th Annual Wilde Awards presented by EncoreMichigan.com. Established in 2002, The 2016 Wilde Awards honored the best productions, performances and technical accomplishments of the recently concluded 2015-16 season.

Just last night, the York Theatre Company honored Broadway and Hollywood legend Angela Lansbury with the 2015 Oscar Hammerstein Award for Lifetime Achievement in Musical Theatre. The evening's entertainment was directed by Kurt Stammc(York's Closer Than Ever; Our Sinatra), with music direction by Andrew Gerle (York's Closer Than Ever).

Erin Davie, Klea Blackhurst & More Added to York's Gala Honoring Angela Lansbury

The York Theatre Company has announced today Broadway's Klea Blackhurst (York's Call Me Madame) Mario Cantone (Assassins), Erin Davie (York's Silk Stockings, Side Show), Matt McGrath (Nice Work If You Can Get It), and Mary Louise Wilson (On the Twentieth Century), along with the acclaimed Yale Wiffenpoofs, have joined the roster of illustrious special guest performers who will gather to honor Broadway and Hollywood legend Angela Lansbury at 2015 Oscar Hammerstein Award for Lifetime Achievement in Musical Theatre on Monday, November 16, 2015 at Guastavino's (409 East 59th Street).

Sparkling new comedy and final show of the season, First Date, is coming to Mason Street Warehouse (400 Culver Street) August 14. This will be the regional premiere of the musical Varietycalls "Flat-out ingenious," and will be on the Mason Street Warehouse's (MSW) stage through August 30. The Saugatuck Center for the Arts' Mason Street Warehouse (400 Culver Street) kicks off its professional summer theatre season with the gritty glamour and glitz of Cabaret. This updated version of the popular Broadway production opens at the Saugatuck Center for the Arts tonight, June 26 at 8:00p.m. and runs through Sunday, July 12.
