O'Hara, Szot et al. Join NY Pops for Concert at Carnegie Hall, 4/16

On Friday, April 16, 2010 at 8:00PM, The New York Pops will celebrate Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe at Carnegie Hall with a vibrant program of the timeless music created by the iconic songwriting duo. Headlining the program are Kelli O'Hara and Paulo Szot, the stars of the Tony award-winning Broadway revival South Pacific. Tenor Michael Slattery, The Clurman Singers, and dancers from the New York Theatre Ballet join The New York Pops and Music Director Steven Reineke for this thrilling collection of classic favorites from My Fair Lady, Camelot, Paint Your Wagon, Gigi and Brigadoon.

This March the Harris Theater for Music and Dance in Millennium Park will present its inaugural Broadway Luminaries series as part of the Harris Theater Presents 2009-2010 season of world-renowned national and international artists and ensembles. Featuring Broadway legends of script and song, the series features an 'A Life in the Theater' dialogue with composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim, Thursday, March 4 at 7:30 pm and an evening with Winnetka native and two-time Tony Award-winning actress and songstress Christine Ebersole, Thursday, March 25 at 7:30 pm.

Liza Minnelli, Mario Cantone, Kristin Chenoweth, Jason Danieley and Norm Lewis will join previously announced Chita Rivera, Debra Monk, Julia Murney, Karen Ziemba, Heidi Blickenstaff and the evening's host Tony Award-winner David Hyde Pierce in paying tribute to John Kander and the work of Mr. Kander and his late collaborator Fred Ebb when the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning Vineyard Theatre honors John Kander at its annual Gala on Monday, March 8 at the Hudson Theater in Manhattan.
'I Say A Little Prayer' Added to Score of PROMISES, PROMISES

The classic song 'I Say A Little Prayer', originally sung by Dionne Warwick,' will be added to the upcoming revival of 'Promises, Promises' starring Kristin Chenoweth and Sean Hayes. The musical features a score by Burt Bacharach and Hal David, who also wrote 'Prayer'. Chenoweth will sing the song during the first act of the show.

Tony Award winner Donna Murphy will join Sutton Foster in Stephen Sondheim and Arthur Laurents' Anyone Can Whistle in the final New York City Center Encores! production of the 2009-2010 season. Ms. Murphy will play Mayor Cora Hoover Hooper, the role originated by Angela Lansbury. Anyone Can Whistle, running for five performances April 8 - 11, will be directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw with musical direction by Rob Berman.

Barnes & Noble Lincoln Triangle (1972 Broadway at 66th Street) will host an evening celebrating the hit Off Broadway show Love, Loss, and What I Wore by Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron on Monday, March 1 at 7:30 p.m. The evening will include a short performance from the show, as well as a discussion featuring Love, Loss, and What I Wore cast members (past and present): Lucy DeVito, Carol Kane and Caroline Rhea. Following the discussion, DeVito, Kane and Rhea will be joined by Ilene Beckerman, author of the best-selling book on which the show is based, for a book signing. The event is free and open to the public.
