Ocean State Theatre Company (OSTC), the not-for-profit professional theatre company, which recently completed its first full season in Warwick, has announced that Erin McCracken, who won rave reviews as Patsy Cline in Ocean State Theatre Company's recent production of Always…Patsy Cline, will return to Ocean State Theatre with her exciting one-woman concert for one performance only tonight, August 9 at 7:30pm.

The Old Globe today announced the full cast and creative team for the World Premiere of Bright Star, a new American musical featuring music by Edie Brickell and Steve Martin, lyrics by Brickell, and book by Martin, based on an original story by Martin and Brickell. Directed by Walter Bobbie, Bright Star will run September 13 - November 2, 2014 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run September 13 - September 27. Opening night is Sunday, September 28 at 7:00 p.m. Single tickets go on sale on Friday, August 8 at noon.

Bay Area Cabaret, devoted to presenting audiences with top performers who expand the definition of cabaret, enters its 11th season this fall with a sparkling lineup at the Fairmont San Francisco's historic Venetian Room. The new season features a star-studded lineup of performers making their Bay Area Cabaret debuts, as well as the return of a few favorites. The season kicks off on Saturday, September 27, 2014 with a tribute to songwriter Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin, Godspell, Pocahontas, Enchanted, Prince of Egypt), starring Mr. Schwartz, SNL's Ana Gasteyer, Broadway's Liz Callaway and Michael McCorry Rose. The season continues November 2 with Tony winner Leslie Uggams (Hallelujah, Baby!, Beulah, Roots) and December 7 with Andrew Lloyd Webber protege and star of Broadway's Phantom of the Opera and Little Mermaid Sierra Boggess.
Kristin Chenoweth to Make Provincetown Debut, 8/10

Kristin Chenoweth, star of Broadway's original "Wicked" and Tony-Winner for "You're A Good Man Charlie Brown," will make her anticipated Provincetown debut in Broadway @ Town Hall (a part of the acclaimed Broadway @ The Art House series) on August 10 for two shows only at 6:30pm and 9:00pm. Chenoweth will be appearing in Provincetown after two sold-out concerts at Carnegie Hall this past May and the Royal Albert Hall in London two weeks ago. Point Foundation (Point) will present its Leadership Award to songwriter Diane Warren, whose work has been recognized with Grammy and Golden Globe awards and multiple Academy Award nominations. The Point Leadership Award is given to an individual who has achieved prominence in their professional career and unequivocally supported the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community. Warren has repeatedly spoken out against bigotry of all kinds, including discrimination directed at the LGBTQ community. The 'It Gets Better' musical theater project that is touring the U.S. in support of LGBTQ youth includes songs of Warren's alongside those of Gnarls Barkley, Kelly Clarkson and Alanis Morissette.
