The Academy of Country Music announced today that Laura Bell Bundy, Billy Currington, John Fogerty, Jack Ingram featuring Dierks Bentley, Toby Keith with Dave Koz, Miranda Lambert, Rascal Flatts and Darius Rucker are scheduled to perform as part of the 45th ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS, hosted by Reba McEntire.

This week, we are taking a listen to the brand-new release of the first single from the forthcoming soundtrack to the motion picture musical BURLESQUE starring Christina Aguilera, Kristen Bell, Stanley Tucci and Cher. This very catchy and mildly caustic confection is Aguilera's first song in the film and expertly establishes the everything-old-is-new-again nature of the production, with brassy blasts sounding off over a herky-jerky hip-hop-style beat. The anachronisms in the lyrics and musical pastiche styles work very well, indeed. Aguilera's vocals are as excellent as expected and this proves to be a very positive precursory glimpse into the wild, sexy, willpower-building world of BURLESQUE. So, please, do as the song says and 'get your ass up and show me how you burlesque!'

The New York City Center and 'Good Housekeeping' will present 'Shine On,' a benefit concert for the National Women's History Museum on April 12. The proceeds will help the museum establish its first permanent location in Washington, DC.

The Costume Designers Guild held its 12th annual awards show on Thursday, February 25 at the Beverly Hilton. The awards honor contemporary, period and fantasy costume design in films, TV and commercials.

In a story for Interview Magazine, Dianna Agron, who plays GLEE's resident dethroned head cheerleader Quinn Fabray, reveals that the producers for the Fox hit TV show were initially hesitant to cast her because she exuded too much innocence for the role of Quinn.
