Akvavit Theatre is pleased to present Swedish playwright Sofia Freden's dark comedy HAND IN HAND, in a world premiere translation by company member Chad Eric Bergman* and directed by company member Breahan Eve Pautsch*. HAND IN HAND will play September 14 - October 16, 2016 at The Den Theatre, 1333 N. Akvavit Theatre, now in its fourth year producing theatrical works that explore the Nordic experience, will be bringing its Nordic Spirit festival of staged readings to The Den Theatre, 1333 N. Milwaukee, for 2014. Featuring contemporary work from all five Nordic countries (Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland), the festival will begin today, December 12 and continue through Sunday, December 14.

Akvavit Theatre presents their second production of the 2013 - 2014 season, Icelandic playwright Bjarni Jonsson's MISHAP!, translated by Hilmar Ramos and playing at The Side Project, 1439 W. Jarvis Ave. The show opens February 20 and will run through March 23. Performances are Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8PM and Sundays at 3PM. There will be a special industry night performance on Monday, March 10 at 8PM.

Akvavit Theatre presents their initial production of the 2013 - 2014 season, Swedish playwright Sofia Freden's They Died Where They Lied, co-directed by Akvavit company members Matthew Isler and Mark Litwicki, translated by Edward Buffalo Bromberg and playing at the Den Theatre, 1333 N. Milwaukee Ave., October 31 - December 1. Regular performances occur Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Industry night is Monday, Nov. 11 at 7:30 p.m. and there will be special Thursday performances on October 31 (first preview) and November 21 at 7:30 p.m. Press/Opening night is Friday, Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m. Regular ticket prices are $20 for single tickets and $15 any performance for industry/students.
