San Jose Rep Delays NEXT FALL to Secure Danny Scheie as Lead, Oct 2013

San Jose Rep will be postponing its scheduled production of Next Fall until October, 2013. San Jose Rep is thrilled to announce that they were able to secure actor Danny Scheie to play the lead role in the thoughtful, moving story written by Geoffrey Nauffts, but his availability for the project required San Jose Rep to push the production to a later date.

The Tokens are the doo-wop-style vocal group from Brooklyn, New York that is known best for it's chart-soaring #1 single, 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight.' The Tokens members Mitch Margo, Phil Margo and Noah Margo have penned a new musical comedy titled, "Oh, My Goddess." The New York City reading will be presented Friday, October 26th.

ALLEGIANCE - A NEW AMERICAN MUSICAL Starring Lea Salonga & More Set for The Old Globe 2012-13 Season - Full Season Announcement, San Diego

The Old Globe's 2012-13 Season will feature the World Premieres of two new musicals: Allegiance - A New American Musical by Jay Kuo and Lorenzo Thione and A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder by Robert L. Freedman and Steven Lutvak. The season also includes George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion in celebration of the classic play's 100th anniversary and the World Premiere of a new adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House by Anne-Charlotte Hanes Harvey and Kirsten Brandt. Two recent Broadway hits will make their San Diego debuts at the Globe: David Lindsay-Abaire's Good People and Jon Robin Baitz's Other Desert Cities. Rounding out the season are the West Coast Premiere of Bekah Brunstetter's Be a Good Little Widow and the Southern California Premiere of Tarell Alvin McCraney's The Brothers Size.

San Jose Rep's GOD OF CARNAGE Begins Previews Tonight; Full Cast Info

The Bay Area premiere of San Jose Rep's God of Carnage begins previews tonight. This winner of the 2009 Tony Award® for Best Play was written by Yasmina Reza and translated by Christopher Hampton. The production runs from March 22 to April 15, 2012, with Opening Night on Wednesday, March 28 at 7:30 pm.

San Diego REPertory 2012-2013 Season to Include CLYBOURNE PARK, THE MOUNTAINTOP

San Diego REPertory Theatre (San Diego REP) announces its 37th season that opens with a significant work of Latino drama and continues with six more provocative and eye-opening new American productions. "Our curiosity about the changing world we live in provokes us to look hard and deep for those plays that take us to places we have never been and look at the world through eyes that are not are own," says Sam Woodhouse, co-founder and artistic director, San Diego REP. The search for the productions to be presented during the 2012-2013 season resulted in a collection of seven theatrical events that are about the quest of Americans to become their best selves, individually and together.
