Soprano Karita Mattila, who electrified Met audiences in the title role of Richard Strauss's Salome in 2004, returns as the voluptuous Judean princess this season, beginning September 23.
Patrick Summers will conduct all performances of Richard Strauss' 'Salome' this season, replacing Mikko Franck, who is ill. 'Salome' opens September 23, and continues September 26 and 30, October 4 (matinee), 7, 11 (matinee), and 16.
