Memphis star Killian Donnelly has joined fellow West Enders Charlotte Wakefield and Matthew Wycliffe in backing an online crowd funding campaign to raise money to produce a studio album of a new British musical.

Rehearsals have now begun for the West End production of hit Broadway musical MEMPHIS, which will have preview performances at the Shaftesbury Theatre, London from 9 October 2014 with Opening Night on 23 October 2014. Winner of four 2010 Tony Awards® including Best Musical, MEMPHIS has a Grammy® Award-winning original score by Bon Jovi founding member David Bryan and book by Joe DiPietro.

At the West End Launch of David Bryan's soul musical Memphis, BWW:UK spoke to stars Beverley Knight and Killian Donnelly as well the Bon Jovi keyboardist himself.

Bon Jovi keyboard player David Bryan added a touch of rock and roll to the West End launch of his Tony award winning musical MEMPHIS THE MUSICAL at Soho's swanky Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club.

The Daily Mail writes that Killian Donnelly will be joining Beverley Knight (The Bodyguard) in MEMPHIS when it opens in the West End this fall. Donnelly is currently starring in The Commitments at the Palace Theatre through September 14. MEMPHIS begins previews October 9 at London's Shaftesbury Theatre, with an opening slated for October 23.

Some of the musicals represented in the evening include La Cage Aux Folles, Hello Dolly, Mame, Dear World, Mack & Mabel, Funny Girl, Gypsy, Follies, Company, Sunday In The Park With George, Road Show and many more. The music of Broadway legendary composers Jule Styne, Jerry Herman and Stephen Sondheim is set for Sunday, 16th February 2014 at 7 p.m. in Guildford.

After a hard-fought contest, The Book of Mormon is 2013's BWW:UK Award winner for Best New Musical! Mormon and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory split the bulk of the awards for musical theatre between them - with The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time mirroring its success at this year's Oliviers.
