Award-winning stage and screen actress Fiona Shaw returned to Broadway last night, April 22, for the opening of The Testament of Mary, by the acclaimed author Colm Toibin, directed by Deborah Warner. Just yesterday, SPIDER-MAN: Turn Off the Dark celebrated tax day by holding a day-after-tax-day giveaway to honor the true heroes of the tax season. The first fifty Certified Public Accountants to arrive at the Foxwoods Theatre were given a pair of tickets to the evening's performance. Broadway veteran Justin Brill will return for a two-day master class today, April 13 and 14, 2:00-5:00 PM at Lakewood Theatre. Mr. Brill conducted a one-day Musical Theatre Workshop at LTC last year while in Portland with the National Tour of Wicked, which resulted in an overwhelming response.

Just yesterday, the cast of SPIDER-MAN: Turn Off the Dark got a visit from a second grade class from PS 69. The 26 students, most of whom had never seen a Broadway show before, stuck around after the show to get a photo with stars Jake Epstein and Rebecca Faulkenberry. Sundance Institute just presented playwright and Sundance Institute Theatre Lab alum Branden Jacobs-Jenkins with the first-ever Tennessee Williams Award from the Institute's Theatre Program, which supports the development of new work for the stage. Sundance Institute Emeritus Trustee Sally Field presented the honor and accompanying $10,000 grant at the Celebrate Sundance Institute benefit for its Theatre Program last night at Stephan Weiss Studio in Greenwich Village.
