Just last night, Cutting-Edge Composers returned to 54 Below, showcasing the talents of both up and coming composers and performers in New York City. Below, BroadwayWorld brings you photos from inside the concert!

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, School of Rock-The Musical, will soon have its World Premiere on Broadway. Previews will begin on Monday, November 2, 2015 at the Winter Garden Theatre, with an opening set for Sunday, December 6. Over the weekend, hundreds of musically gifted children gathered at the Winter Garden for a once-in-a-lifetime chance to join the most famous kid band of all time. An open casting call was held, at which hundreds of kids tried to rock, whale, strum and drum their way to Broadway glory on the stage of the Winter Garden Theatre (former home, for nearly 18 record-shattering years, toAndrew Lloyd Webber's Cats). Broadway's Side Show just ended its run at the St. James Theatre yesterday, January 4, 2015. The completely reimagined revival began previews on October 28 and officially opened on November 17, 2014. The inimitable Sandra Bernhard returns to Joe's Pub at The Public with her all new show Sandra Bernhard is #blessed for her annual year-end residency, which has led up to her New Year's Eve spectacle. Performances continue tonight, December 31 at 9:00PM and 11:00PM. Tickets are $60-200 and available at The Public's Box Office (425 Lafayette, NYC).

Artists Striving to End Poverty (ASTEP) just held its Sixth Annual New York City Christmas: A Concert to Benefit ASTEP, taking place last night, December 15 at Joe's Pub at The Public in New York City. Back by popular demand, the evening featured Broadway's most sought-after talent singing new and classic holiday songs. Two new special releases are now available for purchase: 'I Got All I Need (This Christmas)' an original song written by Lynne Shankel and Jon Hartmere sung by Lindsay Mendez (Wicked, Godspell, Everyday Rapture) and Derek Klena (The Bridges of Madison County, Wicked, Carrie, Dogfight) and a hip-hop version of 'Twas The Night Before Christmas' (music by Shankel) sung by Aurelia Williams (Sistas, The Musical, Papermill's Once On This Island), Kenita Miller (Merrily We Roll Along, Ragtime) and Kay Trinidad (The Little Mermaid, Bare) based on the traditional poem. The two songs were recorded on Yellow Sound Label are available on iTunes and wherever digital music is sold. All proceeds go to benefit ASTEP.

The 26th annual edition of Gypsy of the Year raised a record-breaking $5,229,611 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, thanks to six weeks of fundraising by 64 Broadway, Off-Broadway and national touring companies. The grand total was announced Tuesday, December 9, 2014, by special guests Hugh Jackman, Nathan Lane and Judith Light after two stellar performances of original dances, songs and skits by more than 200 'gypsies' from Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. The all-new Broadway cast recording of Side Show will be released on Broadway Records early next year. Boasting Side Show's legendary and beloved score, which now includes new music, and featuring the acclaimed vocal performances of the recently-revealed Broadway cast of the upcoming, totally reimagined production, the new original Broadway cast recording of Side Show is produced by six-time Grammy Award winning producer Frank Filipetti and will be released in the theater, stores and on iTunes in early 2015. Broadway stalwart Jeff McCarthy joins the all-American cast of the Broadway musical CHICAGO, which is set to play Solaire Resort and Casino's The Theatre from next Wednesday, December 3, to Sunday, December 21. McCarthy will play the role of criminal lawyer Billy Flynn, alongside Bianca Marroquin's Roxie Hart, Terra C. MacLeod's Velma Kelly, Jacob Keith Watson's Amos Hart, Roz Ryan's Matron 'Mama' Morton, and C. Newcomer.
