On June 12 at 8PM, the New Philharmonia Orchestra will conclude its 20th Anniversary Season with a gala performance featuring the world-renowned jazz guitarist and singer John Pizzarelli in a program showcasing his signature style that sets the standard for stylish modern jazz.
January brings a full roster of live jazz to downtown Phoenix. Highlights include a free concert, Hot Dogs and Jazz, to kick off our new Family Series, several Latin Jazz performances to heat up the new year and the incredible Rodney Whitaker Quartet. Sunday Jam Sessions continue each Sunday evening, as well as mainstream and contemporary jazz concerts each weekend.

St. Armands Art Festival returns with two full days of art, live music, and a free giveaway in honor of its 25th anniversary. This signature, nationally ranked juried outdoor art affair is scheduled for November 9 - 10, 2013. Festival promoter Howard Alan Events has produced this popular show for the past 25 years drawing the finest talent in the country and attracting locals and tourists alike who look forward to the vast array of original artwork on display and for sale. Just a few yards away, jazz finds an uptown home at Columbia's Miller Theatre. This season, Melissa Smey has programmed groups from the top of her wish list in a Jazz series that begins with the inventive Lionel Loueke Trio and the Renee Rosnes Quartet.
Today we are talking to one of the world's foremost cabaret artists and jazz vocalists - also known for her famous rapport with sibling and fellow Broadway baby Liz Callaway - who has written and recorded hundreds of songs over her thirty-year career - including 'I've Dreamed Of You' for Barbra Streisand's A LOVE LIKE OURS, among many others - but, perhaps she is most famous for the unforgettable theme from the highly syndicated hit 90s sitcom THE NANNY starring Fran Drescher - the one and only Ann Hampton Callaway! The Jackie Robinson Foundation (JRF), a highly touted organization which provides financial grants and support services to deserving college students, will host the 5th Anniversary JAZZ on the Grass benefit concert (JAZZ) on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 2 p.m. in Sherman Oaks, California at the estate of Lynne and Oz Scott, renowned director and producer.
As overachievers go, Isabel Rose makes Oprah look like a slacker. She is a published author, equally comfortable in the realms of fiction and non-fiction, an award-winning actress who has conquered stage and screens (big and small), a screenwriter whose 2003 hit film Anything But Love was deemed a 'charmer' by the Los Angeles Times, and a playwright and composer who adapted her first novel, The J.A.P. Chronicles, into an off-Broadway musical that enjoyed an extended run in early 2006. If that weren't enough, she also graduated summa cum laude from Yale.
