Pirates, buried treasure and swordfights abound in Children's Theatre of Charlotte's 'Treasure Island,' coming to the McColl Family Theatre from March 12-28. Ken Ludwig's stage adaptation captures the swashbuckling danger and excitement of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic adventure story.

One of the most beloved characters of American literature comes to life in the exuberant musical, 'The Adventures of Tom Sawyer,' at Mercer County Community College's Kelsey Theatre. A pop rock Broadway version of Mark Twain's semi-autobiographical novel is presented by Maurer Productions OnStage Fridays, Mar. 12 and 19 at 7 p.m.; Saturdays, Mar. 13 and 20 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and Sundays, Mar. 14 and 21 at 2 p.m.

Postmortem (by Ken Ludwig) is a whodunit set in the 1920's featuring William Gillette who played Sherlock Holmes on Broadway for 30 years. The murder (if it was murder) happened a year earlier and everyone, including William is a suspect. Humor, suspense and a challenge to determine 'whodunit' make it a truly fun evening. The show will play its final performance on Feb 14.

The Sunshine Brooks Theatre announced its new season lineup.

Artist Robert Rodriguez has designed logos for several big name companies over the years. Most notably, he gave the famed Quaker Oats man a makeover to make him more appealing to the health-conscious masses. Most recently, Rodriguez was tapped to design the artwork for the upcoming Broadway production of LEND ME A TENOR, starring Tony Shalhoub and Anthony LaPaglia and directed by Stanley Tucci.

'Lend Me a Tenor: The Musical,' which premiered at the Utah Shakespearean Festival in 2007, is ready to take London by storm. The musical will have a private industry presentation and workshop in March of 2010. A full-scale production is slated for a West End run in fall of 2010.
