Feinstein's/54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Porter Carroll, Jr. in The Evolution of Cabaret.

Netflix announced today that filmmaker Morgan Neville (20 Feet from Stardom, Best of Enemies) will direct an original feature documentary contextualizing the final fifteen years of maverick auteur Orson Welles' life.

Directed by Co-Artistic Director Joseph Ritsch, with book and lyrics by Richard Mailman and music by Ryan Haase, DORIAN'S CLOSET is a fictionalized account of Buffalo native Dorian Corey who headed to New York City for a life as a 'female impersonator' and 'performer' and became a huge hit. One may think of such Broadway hits like LA CAGE AUX FOLLES or KINKY BOOTS which both deal with the life of male performers dressing as females. And as in those two monster hits, a musical to succeed needs one heck of a star and Director Ritsch has found such an individual in Stephen Scott Wormley who is absolutely astonishing in his role as 'Dorian' . I recall seeing his former performances in ONCE ON THIS ISLAND (Olney Theatre Center), HAIRSPRAY at Signature Theatre, and in the HAIRSPRAY concert version with the Baltimore Symphony where he excelled as 'Seaweed'.

Rep Stage, the professional regional theatre in residence at Howard Community College, will premiere a new musical, 'Dorian's Closet,' based on the life of legendary female impersonator Dorian Corey. Directed by Co-Artistic Director Joseph Ritsch, with book and lyrics by Richard Mailman and music by Ryan Haase, 'Dorian's Closet' runs April 27-May 14, 2017.

Now, the singing duo of Dylan and Zachary Zmed (sons of Grease 2 and T.J. Hooker star Adrian Zmed ) are paying tribute to Phil and Don Everly along with their band The Bird Dogs.

She was also giddily bemused when was nominated for the Best of the Net a few years back, though she lost out to savvier scribes. Alison is also a staff book reviewer for Five 2 One Magazine. Alison has four chapbooks: From Dancing Girl Press, Monster Sermons; from Fowlpox Press, Miro's Poesie and Clockwise Cats; and from Feline and Nothingness Press, Clockwise Cats: The Prequel. Hilary Sideris is the author of Most Likely to Die, poems in the voice of Keith Richards (Poets Wear Prada 2014) and The Inclination to Make Waves (Big Wonderful 2016). Her new chapbook, A House Not Made with Hands, inspired by Vasari's Lives of the Artists, is forthcoming from Poets Wear Prada. She lives in Kensington, Brooklyn.
