Off-Broadway's award-winning Irish Repertory Theatre (Charlotte Moore, Artistic Director and Ciaran O'Reilly, Producing Director) proudly announces the fourth production of its 27th theatre season, the New York premiere of Nate Rufus Edelman's THE BELLE OF BELFAST, directed by Claudia Weill. THE BELLE OF BELFAST was developed as part of the Irish Rep's Reading Series in 2013. THE BELLE OF BELFAST will begin previews on Wednesday, April 15, 2015. The production is scheduled to run through Sunday, June 7, 2015. The Opening Night is scheduled for Thursday, April 23, 2015.

For this year-long celebration of Sam Shepard's 70th birthday, Magic Theatre spearheaded revivals of his most acclaimed works in theaters all across the Bay Area. "What sets "36 Stories by Sam Shepard" apart is that these are Shepherd's prose stories, turned into performance, the only completely new work created for the celebration..." remarks Word for Word co-artistic director Susan Harloe. "Word for Word was invited to create an original work by adapting his prose for the stage." Company member Amy Kossow spent a year sifting through five of Mr. Shepard's collections of short stories, eventually choosing to begin with a single story, set, simply enough, in a roadside diner. The resulting script, "36 Stories by Sam Shepard", weaves together tales of his beloved great American desert highways, the endless lonesome roads along which one may meet any type of fellow wanderer.

BANKS' Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson joined legendary stars on the red carpet last night in Burbank, California for the premiere of their highly anticipated film, hitting theaters on December 20th. 'Mary Poppins' actors Dick Van Dyke and Julie Andrews joined 'Banks' cast members Paul Giamatti, Colin Farrell and Bradley Whitford and many more at the event held at Walt Disney Studios. Sam Shepard, the author of FOOL FOR LOVE, which is now in production at convergence continuum, described the script as 'a very emotional play and in some ways embarrassing for me to witness but somehow necessary at the time.' The time was shortly after breaking up his marriage to be with another woman.

Academy Award-winning actress Emma Thompson will be honored with a handprint-footprint ceremony at the Opening Night Gala of AFI Fest 2013 presented by Audi, featuring Disney's 'Saving Mr. Banks,' in which Thompson stars as 'Mary Poppins' author P.L. Travers, on Thursday, November 7th at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.
