On January 30th, a host of Broadway favorites will sing the music from the hit ABC/CMT show Nashville at Feinstein's/54 Below.

Happy New Year, BroadwayWorld! As we eagerly anticipate the amazing musicals and plays coming up in 2017, we're taking a moment to look back at the significant Broadway closings of 2016.

This January, Feinstein's/54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club & Private Event Destination, presents some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz, and beyond. Scroll down for more details!

American Soul/R&B singer Freda Payne and Grammy Award nominee B. Slade, who brought down the house during the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts' co-production of For The Record: Scorsese - American Crime Requiem, bring their signature vocal styles to The Wallis for special one-night-only concerts in The Sorting Room on January 7 and 8, respectively. The Sorting Room, an exciting new intimate space for live performance, temporarily transforms The Wallis' Lovelace Studio Theater into a 150-seat nightclub that offers Los Angeles audiences the opportunity to see some of the best established and upcoming talent in cabaret, comedy, live contemporary music, dance performance and more, now through January 14.

New York Stage and Film just held its annual Winter Gala honoring two titans of the entertainment industry: four-time Academy Award nominee Annette Bening and famed architect and Tony- and Emmy-winning scenic designer David Rockwell.

Showman Marti Gould Cummings, known for his inventive blend of drag, comedy and vocal performance, will be making numerous appearances throughout Manhattan for the remainder of the year. Off the heels of his London debut, Marti will resume his weekly Monday evening appearances at midtown's Therapy, welcoming to the stage Broadway star Peter Gallagher and his Broadway songstress daughter on November 28. On December 7, Marti will help to honor George Takei as host to the Emery Award after party on December 7, and attend the 18th Annual Glam Awardson December 11, as a nominee in six categories. Lastly, the year will close with Have Yourself a Very Marti Christmas, Cummings's encore performance at 54 Below, featuring guest artists Lesli Margherita and Matt DeAngelis.

On November 11, ten young women of the Broadway community came together in New York City's Central Park to process and express their truth. They shared this creative dialogue together and with those passing by and now with you. Below, watch as they perform the Dixie Chicks' 'Not Ready to Make Nice.'

The New York Musical Festival (NYMF), previously known as The New York Musical Theater Festival, just honored Tony and Grammy Award winning composer and lyricist Duncan Sheik, Casting Director Tara Rubin, and former NYMF Board Member and Treasurer Frank Troutman at its 2016 Gala hosted by Mo Rocca last night at the Edison Ballroom.

The acclaimed Broadway Sings concert series, which features new arrangements of pop stars' music, will present its new spinoff series at Rockwood Music Hall on Sunday, November 20.

Roundabout Theatre Company's Broadway production of HOLIDAY INN, THE NEW Irving Berlin MUSICAL is now extended by two weeks through January 15, 2017. Holiday Inn, The New Irving BerlinMusical opened officially last night, October 6, 2016, on Broadway at Studio 54 (254 West 54th Street). Garth Taylor (The Rooks) joins the cast of Dust Can't Kill Me. Garth will play opposite the previously announced Elizabeth A. Davis and Kathryn Gallagher in a concert presentation of Dust Can't Kill Me: a new folk musical by Abigail Carney and Elliah Heifetz.

On October 10th, The Score will produce Dust Can't Kill Me by Abigail Carney and Elliah Heifetz as a live concert for the next episode of the podcast recording.

Over the weekend, Broadway For Hillary held 'Broadway Calls for Clinton,' the organization's first action day of phone banking for the Clinton campaign. Broadway's brightest came together for this volunteer organized event for a day of voter outreach in support of Hillary Clinton, the Democratic nominee for president, and BroadwayWorld has photos below!
