The first poster for internationally recognized stage and screen star Kathleen Turner in the new West End production of BAKERSFIELD MIST is now available to view.

The Daily Mail writes that Kathleen Turner is set to return to London in Stephen Sachs' BAKERSFIELD MIST at the Duchess Theatre, beginning May 10, 2014. Joining Turner onstage will be Ian McDiarmid.

Broward Center for the Performing Arts and Matthew Lombardo present the Barrington Stage production of Becoming Dr. Ruth with Debra Jo Rupp as Dr. Ruth Westheimer at the Parker Playhouse in Fort Lauderdale from Wednesday, April 16 through Sunday, April 20. Tickets go on sale Friday, January 31for the acclaimed Mark St. Germain play, which is directed by Julianne Boyd and is part of the WinterStage Series at the Parker Playhouse. The production comes direct from New York and will be produced by Michael Alden, Stefany Bergson and Rodger Hess.

Internationally recognized stage and screen star Kathleen Turner displays a heretofore unheard talent byway of crooning a tune or two in a new promotional featurette just released for her upcoming starring turn in Bertolt Brecht's celebrated political drama with music, MOTHER COURAGE.

Steel River Playhouse has announced Gene Terruso as its new Artistic Director. Located in the heart of Pottstown's historic district, Steel River is a growing nonprofit performance and education facility. To introduce Mr. Terruso to the community, Steel River will be hosting a series of "meet and greets", January through March at the Playhouse. At these events, visitors will have a chance to mingle with the new Artistic Director and other staff, enjoy entertainment by select artists, engage in in a formal Q&A, and tour the facility.

Muny Executive Producer Mike Isaacson announced today the directors, choreographers and music directors for the Muny's 2014 Season, which opens on June 16 with Billy Elliot The Musical. Roundabout Theatre Company's production of Machinal, starring Rebecca Hall, written by Sophie Treadwell and directed by Lyndsey Turner, began previews on December 20, 2013 ahead of an official opening on January 16, 2014 at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway. The National YoungArts Foundation today announced its 2014 YoungArts Winners. Out of approximately 11,000 applications, 687 young artists from 46 states have been recognized for their outstanding work and accomplishments in one of ten disciplines across the literary, performing, visual and design arts fields. Asolo Repertory Theatre will open its 2013-2014 season with SHOW BOAT, based on the novel by Edna Ferber, music by Jerome Kern and book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II. This winner of the 1994 Tony Award for best revival features a score of timeless classics, including 'Ol' Man River, 'Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man' and 'Make Believe.' Previews will be held tonight, November 12 - 14 and the show will run from November 15 - December 29. Opening night will be held on Friday, November 15 at 8pm.

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater presents Guess Who's Coming to Dinner starring Malcolm-Jamal Warner (The Cosby Show, Malcolm and Eddie) in his Washington, D.C. theatrical debut as Dr. John Prentice. Under the direction of David Esbjornson (Broadway's Driving Miss Daisy and Arena's Red Hot Patriot starring Kathleen Turner), this heart-warming comedy features many of the same actors who appeared in the world premiere of the play by True Colors TheatreCompany in July 2012.The play is adapted from William Rose's screenplay for the 1967 film of the same name starring Sidney Poitier, Katharine Hepburnand Spencer Tracy about a young white woman in the 1960s introducing her family to her charming, accomplished and African-American fiance.
