After spending a hopelessly devoted summer with Sandy Dumbrowski (Emily Padgett), the new girl in town, Danny Zuko's (Eric Schneider) world is thrown upside down when Sandy appears at Rydell High on the first day of school. What follows is a rock n' roll celebration of growin' up, cruisin' with friends and goin' steady.

Upon closing, GREASE will have played 554 performances and 31 previews. The Falcon Theatre presents the world premiere comedy Surviving Sex, the fourth production in its 2008-2009 'Bringin' the FUNNY' All-Comedy subscription season. Written by acclaimed comedy writer David Landsberg (author of last year's hit play An Act of Love at the Falcon Theatre), Surviving Sex stars an ensemble cast led by Jeff Marlow, a veteran of the Falcon stage (Where's Poppa?, Sheldon & Mrs. Levine) and directed by Susan Morgenstern (director of last year's Falcon comedy, Leap).

Now entering its sixth year, The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) exists to revitalize musical theater culture by discovering and promoting new musical theater artists, producers and projects; nurturing a vibrant and innovative artistic community; and connecting one of America's greatest art forms with a diverse, contemporary audience. The New York Musical Theater Festival will begin accepting open submissions for its Next Link Project January 7th for the sixth annual festival taking place September 28 - October 18, 2009.

Tickets for the brand new production of GREASE, starring American Idol winner Taylor Hicks, go on sale Wednesday, December 17. Taylor Hicks made his debut on Broadway in the role of 'Teen Angel' this past summer. GREASE will play the Golden Gate Theatre beginning Tuesday, March 24 through Sunday, April 19. This brand new production of GREASE will feature songs from the smash hit 1978 motion picture performed for the first time ever on stage. GREASE is presented as a part of the 2008-2009 Citibank Best of Broadway series season under the direction of Carole Shorenstein Hays.

The results of the 2008 Executive Board Election were announced on November 17, 2008 at the annual SSDC membership meeting in New York. Joining the leadership of President Karen Azenberg, Executive Vice President Larry Carpenter and Treasurer Doug Hughes are director/choreographer Kathleen Marshall as Vice President and director Mary B. Robinson as Secretary. New members Joe Calarco and Leigh Silverman joined the Board, along with incumbents Rob Ashford, Edie Cowan, Ethan McSweeny, Tom Moore, Lisa Peterson, Daniel Sullivan, David Warren and Chay Yew. After twelve years of valued service, Mark Brokaw and Sheldon Epps rotated off the Board.
