Rattlestick Playwrights Theater announces its 25th Anniversary season, featuring two World Premiere productions.

TheaterWorksUSA, the country's premier not-for-profit producer of professional theater for young and family audiences for over 57 years, will host its annual spring benefit at The Current at Chelsea Piers on Monday, April 29. Funds raised at the event will support TheaterWorksUSA's ongoing commitment to keeping theater accessible to diverse communities nationwide and providing opportunities for professional artists in New York City to create exceptional new work for young and family audiences.

TheaterWorksUSA (Barbara Pasternack, Artistic Director; Michael Harrington, Managing Director) is announcing that tickets to their highly anticipated production of Dog Man: The Musical are now available to TheaterWorksUSA members. 

Broadway legends -- and real-life husband and wife -- Danny Burstein (My Fair Lady, Moulin Rouge) and Rebecca Luker (The Sound of Music, Music Man) have joined forces to tell a playful tale about the pitfalls of greed.

Actress Judith Light and playwright Tony Kushner are set to receive DGF Madge Evans & Sidney Kingsley Awards. Former DGF Fellow, Oliver Houser, also announced as recipient of the DGF Stephen Schwartz Award.

Deputy Mayor Alicia Glen and the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) Acting Commissioner Anne del Castillo today announced the first round of grant recipients of the "Made in NY" Women's Film, TV & Theatre Fund. Funds were awarded to 63 film, TV, theatre and digital media projects made by creative entrepreneurs who identify as women. This is the first round of a $5 million, three-year program funded by MOME and administered by New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA).

The Castillo Theatre (Dan Friedman, artistic director; John Rankin, associate managing director) has scheduled two talk backs in-conjunction with its current production of Fred Newman's Billie, Malcolm & Yusuf, directed by award-winning director, Gabrielle Kurlander. Inspired by the successful reading of the classic play, "12 Angry Men," by Reginald Rose this fall featuring 12 Broadway actresses, producer Lauren Class Schneider announced in January that women in law schools, universities, high schools, community and regional theaters, and community centers across the country were invited to raise their voices - with scripts in hand - in readings of the play with all-female casts over the weekend of April 5-8, 2019.

Waterwell presents the World Premiere site-specific production of The Courtroom, a re-enactment of deportation proceedings, with text arranged from real court transcripts by Waterwell co-founder and Tony Award nominee Arian Moayed, and featuring direction by Waterwell Artistic Director and Obie Award winner Lee Sunday Evans. Previously scheduled for only four performances, The Courtroom has added three performances to the following week. Tickets are free and available now at waterwell.org.

Award-winning artists and activists are joining forces to bring the #MeToo movement to the stage. Inspired by the women who have come forward with personal accounts of President Donald Trump's sexual harassment and assaults, "The Pussy Grabber Plays" will premiere Monday, January 14 at 9:30 p.m. at Joe's Pub at The Public Theater. An acclaimed, all-female production team will make the play available royalty-free to theaters, community groups and colleges across the country, creating a new platform for survivors of sexual abuse.

Moving from Friday to Sunday night, HIGH MAINTENANCE® returns for its nine-episode third season SUNDAY, JAN. 20 (10:30-11:05 p.m. ET/PT). Created by Katja Blichfeld (who directs the season premiere) and Ben Sinclair, the critically acclaimed show uses The Guy, a marijuana dealer (played by Sinclair), to tell a variety of stories about New York lives, including his own.

With the help of celebrated guest artists-including Oscar, Tony, and Emmy Award winner Ellen Burstyn, Tony Award winner BD Wong, and Emmy, Tony, and Golden Globe Award winner Judd Hirsch-American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) raised $900,000 at its Fall Celebration welcoming new Artistic Director Pam MacKinnon and new Executive Director Jennifer Bielstein.
