The Mighty Quinn Foundation hosted Shakespeare and Champagne, a fundraising benefit for the Shakespeare Academy at Stratford, on May 15 at Ars Nova in New York City. Jenn Harris (Gayby, New York is Dead) hosted the event. Bryan Terrell Clark, who currently plays George Washington in the Tony Award winning musical Hamilton was among the evening's special guests. Musicals at Richter (MAR), celebrating its 32nd season as the longest-running outdoor theater in Connecticut, kicks off the summer June 10 with a visit from irrepressible matchmaker Dolly Levi in Michael Stewart and Jerry Herman's classic 'Hello, Dolly!' playing through June 25. Staged on the grounds of the Richter Arts Center in Danbury, performances take place outdoors under the stars today through Sunday evenings at 8:30 p.m., with additional specially discounted performances on Thursday, June 16 and 23.
The York Theatre Company presented the inaugural College Winter Intensive program this month, offering college students the unique opportunity of taking classes in an off-Broadway theatre near the heart of New York's theatre district during the winter break.
