The Other Place, the new play starring Laurie Metcalf, opened last night, January 10 at Manhattan Theatre Club's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street). The Other Place stars Laurie Metcalf ('Roseanne,' November), Daniel Stern ('The Wonder Years,' Diner), Zoe Perry (Broadway debut), and John Schiappa (Assassins, Take Me Out).

Tony Winner Derek McLane to Design Set for 85th ACADEMY AWARDS

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Broadway production designer Derek McLane, who received the 2009 Tony Award for his scenic design for '33 Variations' has been selected by producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron to design the set for the 85th Academy Awards.

kef theatrical productions previously announced its partnership with Justin Brill (WICKED national tour) to present a four-week run of Steven Strafford's METHTACULAR! The production will run at the Playroom Theatre at 151 West 46th Street in New York beginning tonight, August 30th. The show is currently slated to run through September 23rd.

Tony-award winning Intiman Theatre turns 40 this year and will celebrate by launching a new summer theatre festival with four plays: Romeo and Juliet, Hedda Gabler, Miracle! and Dirty Story. The artists leading the charge - Dan Savage, Valerie Curtis-Newton, Andrew Russell and Allison Narver - are bringing passion projects with a twist to awaken the theatre, and the company of 17 local actors features established heavyweights and new forces, twisting and turning to play more than 40 roles in more than 80 performances. Similarly, the design team is stretching and shifting to build a versatile playground on the mainstage that will support several shows while simultaneously creating a separate universe in Intiman's studio space.
