BWW Reviews: Act II Playhouse Presents a Ferociously Funny UNNECESSARY FARCE

Act II Playhouse's production of UNNECESSARY FARCE by Paul Smith Slade is boisterous, funny, chaotic and a wonderfully done farce. According to a press release from Act II Playhouse, this show has 'Two Cops. Three Crooks. Eight Doors. One Killer in a Kilt.' Without giving too much away, this show is about an undercover cop and a rookie cop who are prepared to take down a corrupt mayor, but just like in any good farce, everything that can go wrong does go wrong. UNNECESSARY FARCE at Act II Playhouse is a delightfully amusing show that will have audiences laughing throughout the show.

BWW Reviews: The Theater's THE REAL THING

Tom Stoppard's autobiographical parallel The Real Thing focuses on the successful playwright Henry and his close circle of family and friends. Starring his wife, Charlotte, Henry's newest work examines the intricacies of love, honesty and infidelity. Soon, as this play within a play continues, the lines between fiction and reality start to blur. Relationships break, bend and change, as lust, deceit and selfishness take center stage, leaving us all searching for 'the real thing'.

BWW Reviews: HOTEL SUITE at Act II Playhouse Provides Big Laughs

The newest comedy to open at Act II Playhouse is Neil Simon's HOTEL SUITE. The show revolves around two unique story lines that provide a humorous glimpse into the lives of two separate couples that happened to stay in the same hotel suite. The show provides lots of laughs, but it also engages the audience in the storylines of each couple. Act II's production of HOTEL SUITE is a great way to spend an evening out and have a few laughs with friends and family.

BWW Reviews: The Arden Theatre's A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC is a Night to Remember

The word 'brilliant' is the word that came to mind as I left the Arden Theatre after seeing their production of A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC. Stephen Sondheim wrote the music and lyrics for this musical and Hugh Wheeler wrote the book. The Ingmar Bergman film, SMILE OF A SUMMER NIGHT, inspired this musical. Terrance J. Nolan directs this current production, and the Arden's A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC is astounding.
