Blake Daniel to Join Justin Vivian Bond in THE CLOCK OF THE LOCK at Players Club, 3/25

Blake Daniel (Spring Awakening) will join the cast of Justin Sayre's Play, The Click of the Lock. Daniel joins the cast already featuring Tony Nominated Downtown Performer Justin Vivian Bond, Zachary Booth (Damages, Keep the Lights On), Rob Maitner (Urinetown, NY Fringe Festival; Bistro Award for Fairy Tales at the WPA Theater), Brian Barefoot, Jax Jackson, Grant Chapman & Chris Tyler. The reading will be held at the Players Club (16 Gramercy Park South in Manhattan) at 8:00 PM, with a cocktail reception starting at 7pm. Theatrical singer, songwriter, actor, writer, model, dancer and DJ, Kenyon Phillips announced today that writer/blogger Michael Musto, writer/performer David Cale, and actor/singer and drag performer Flotilla DeBarge (HBO's Angels in America) will join the cast of the world premiere performance of The Life + Death of Kenyon Phillips. Musto will play the role of Kenyon's therapist, Cale a reporter, and Flotilla will portray Kenyon's ex-girlfriend, Gina. The three join previously announced Daphne Rubin-Vega (Rent, Anna in the Tropics).

Voice teacher and occasional producer, Barbara Maier Gustern and Downtown producer/performer Eric L. Schmalenberger present: TRANS Formative - Songs That Propel Us: A Benefit for New York Voices, Joe's Pub's artist commissioning program, and the Ali Forney Center. Two extravaganzas featuring stars of the downtown scene will play at Joe's Pub at The Public, 425 Lafayette Street, on March 24 and April 28. Show times are at 9:30pm.

The Meeting* hosted by Justin Sayre, the acclaimed comedy/variety show, will continue its engagement at JOE'S PUB at The Public Theater on Sunday, March 16 at 9:30 PM with a celebration of the celebrated TV program 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer.' After a highly-successful season at 54 Below, the show has returned to its downtown roots this year with shows through May. The Meeting* has been called 'delicious and delightfully droll' by The New York Post, and 'hilarious and sardonic' by The Village Voice. A recent story for Slate.com called the evening 'so deliciously icy that it left me shivering with fear and delight.' The March show will feature special guests Kim Smith, Christian Coulson, Diana Kazakova, Chris Tyler and Mark Dommu with others to be announced. Tracy Stark serves as Music Director.

Longtime Joe's Pub favorite Justin Vivian Bond returns to the acclaimed downtown venue for a new long-form show based on the work of Tennessee Williams. In The Drift, JVB creates a new, free associative, collage of spoken word and song inspired by Williams' novella The Roman Spring of Karen Stone about a retired actress who drifts from one space to another through couture, bed, or her own mind.

Reverend Billy & The Stop Shopping Choir, who first rose to international attention for their music-based consciousness-raising about consumerism, have recently turned their focus to a different menace: big companies' instrumental role in climate disruption. New York City's singing activists will perform The Honeybeelujah Show-in which they take up the 'Big Ag' complex of mono-culture farming, with the honeybee, one of its victims, as the Choir's animal guide-May 4 - June 22 at Joe's Pub at The Public (425 Lafayette St, NYC).

4th Annual NIGHT OF A THOUSAND JUDYS Set for Kaufman Center, 6/16

The Meeting* hosted by Justin Sayre will present the fourth annual 'Night Of A Thousand Judys' on Monday, June 16. The Pride concert to benefit The Ali Forney Center will take place at Merkin Concert Hall at the Kaufman Center (129 West 67th Street in Manhattan). Called 'a rambunctious, uproarious, unpredictable all-star concert' by The Wall Street Journal, 'Night Of A Thousand Judys' will honor the iconic Judy Garland with special skits, tributes and songs from her legendary career as movie star, recording artist and stage performer. This show will also help celebrate the landmark 75th Anniversary of The Wizard of Oz. There will be a pre-show VIP reception at 6:30 PM and the performance at 8:00 PM.
