The 6th annual BROADWAY BELTS FOR PFF! - a concert that raises much-needed funds for Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation - was held last night at the Edison Ballroom (240 W. 47 St.). Hosted by Julie Halston, performers included: Lisa Howard (IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN YOU), Margo Seibert (ROCKY), Hunter Ryan Herdlicka (ONCE UPON A MATTRESS),Daveed Diggs (HAMILTON), Randy Graff (CITY OF ANGELS), Cady Huffman (THE PRODUCERS), Judy Kaye(PHANTOM OF THE OPERA), Telly Leung (ALLEGIANCE), and Robert Creighton (THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD, CAGNEY).
The Broadway at Birdland concert series presented Tony Award-winning actress/singer CHRISTINE EBERSOLE and Grammy Award-winning composer/pianist/singer BILLY STRITCH in 'Our Favorite Things' last night and BroadwayWorld was there.
Al Hirschfeld immortalized celebrities, politicians, Broadway productions, films, television shows and beyond with his iconic linear drawings for nine decades, establishing himself as one of the most important contemporary portrait artists. Over a decade since the legendary artist drew his final line drawing, he continues to inspire. This spring, Hirschfeld will be celebrated with the publication of a new book and a major exhibition at the New-York Historical Society. Just last night the New-York Historical Society celebrated the launch of The Hirschfeld Century: The Art of Al Hirschfeld. the first major retrospective of Hirschfeld. Broadway's Donna Lynne Champlin (Sweeney Todd, Billy Elliott, Hollywood Arms) announces Ode To Joy, a national online auction of one-of-a-kind Broadway, film and TV memorabilia donated by her friends and colleagues in the entertainment industry to raise funds for her sister-in-law Joy Parker, one of a handful of young women in the United States living with ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease. The auction will go live today, Tuesday, June 10 and continue through Friday, June 20.
THE UNTOLD STORIES OF BROADWAY: Tales from the World's Most Famous Theaters, Volume 1 (Dress Circle Publishing. 350 pages, $19.99) by author and musical theater historian Jennifer Ashley Tepper is the first book to recount the backstage drama of Broadway's greatest shows at eight iconic theaters. Using firsthand accounts from some of the biggest names in Broadway history, the book provides a look behind the curtains of the Al Hirschfield, August Wilson, Lyceum, Mark Hellinger, Marquis, Neil Simon, Richard Rodgers, and Winter Garden Theaters.

Last night, June 17, stars of Broadway, TV and Film in celebrated the 100th anniversary of Actors' Equity Association (AEA), the oldest performing arts union representing 49,000 professional stage actors and stage managers working on Broadway, off-Broadway and regionally across the US.

PERFORMANCE OF THE CENTURY's book signing took place last night, December 14th at the Drama Book Shop. Actors' Equity president Nick Wyman and author Robert Simonson, as well as special guests gathered to recall Equity's first 100 years and celebrate the new book, PERFORMANCE OF THE CENTURY: 100 YEARS OF ACTORS' EQUITY ASSOCIATION AND THE RISE OF PROFESSIONAL AMERICAN THEATER. Actors Lee Roy Reams and Danny Burstein, and Justin 'Squigs' Robertson, who designed the book's cover, attended.

Broadway composer/lyricist Stephen Schwartz went to see yesterday's matinee of Musical Theatre West's production MAN OF LA MANCHA.
