Metropolitan Playhouse, 'theatrical archaeologist extraordinaire' (Backstage), presents a revival of Under the Gaslight, by Augustin Daly. First presented at the New York Theatre in1867, Under the Gaslight will be revived in Metropolitan's home at 220 E 4th Street November 20th through December 19th, 2009.

Anne Kaufman Comes to East Lynne Theater Co. In Cape May 10/2

It's a busy year for Anne Kaufman, daughter of the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright, George S. Kaufman, but she found time to come to Cape May to be part of the scheduled Q&A with the cast of East Lynne Theater Company's 'The Butter and Egg Man' on Friday, October 2.

The Readers' Ensemble Company (Justin Flagg & Dana Iannuzzi, producers) continues its downtown Manhattan festival of staged readings of rarely performed works. Each piece depicts part of the Recession Cycle: Greed, Collapse, Revolution, and Rebirth. The company's goal is to reintegrate these forgotten masterpieces into the active dialogue on pop-culture and current events. A Q & A follows each performance.
