The Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) has announced today that Olivia Oguma (Eve Ensler's Emotional Creature) will join Adriane Lenox and Andrea McArdle for the limited engagement of The Vagina Monologues by Eve Ensler and directed by Karen Carpenter. Oguma replaces Elizabeth Ashley who regretfully had to withdraw due to personal reasons and hopes to return to the Playhouse stage in the near future. Performances will be Wednesday, February 13 - Sunday, February 17 at the Bucks County Playhouse (70 South Main Street in New Hope, PA).

This past October, the Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) and Newtown Arts Company announced the return of the famed student theater festival competition to the newly reopened Playhouse next spring after an absence of two years. The BCP Student Theater Festival, produced by Newtown Arts Company and the Playhouse, will be open to participating middle and high schools.

Bucks County Playhouse announced a special two day engagement of A.R. Gurney's Love Letters, starring theatre, television and film legends Tyne Daly and James Earl Jones. Love Letters will be performed tonight, October 20th at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, October 21st at 2:00 p.m. at the Bucks County Playhouse (70 South Main Street). Following the Saturday evening performance, there will be a benefit reception underwritten by The Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm (barleysheaf.com) to honor the cast and raise money for the Playhouse.

Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) Producing Director Jed Bernstein has announced he will be leading a special Thursday matinee talkback series featuring a selection of cast members, to follow 4:00 p.m. performances of Barefoot in the Park on Thursdays, August 16th , August 23rd and August 30th. Broadway and television actor Jason Kravits (Relatively Speaking, "The Practice") will host "Sing-a-Long-a Sound of Music", a little over one week after what would have been Oscar Hammerstein II's 117th birthday, tonight, July 22nd at 6:30 p.m. at the Bucks County Playhouse (70 South Main Street). The presentation will be preceded by a special outdoor BBQ Style dinner hosted by Hamilton's Grill Room beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Last night, July 2, was the Bucks County Playhouse re-opening and ribbon cutting ceremony, as well as the first performance of Rodgers & Hammerstein's A Grand Night for Singing. The first production of the Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) 2012 summer season, A Grand Night for Singing will run through Sunday, July 29th. The ribbon-cutting ceremony took place 73 years and a day after The Playhouse first opened in 1939. Special guests included Mayor Laurence Keller (New Hope), Chris Hart (son of Moss Hart), Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor Cawley, Congressman Michael Fitzpatrick (U.S. Representative for Pennsylvania's 8th congressional district), and Will Hammerstein (Grandson of Oscar Hammerstein II). The Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) in New Hope, Pennsylvania, has announced the casting for its first production of the summer, Rodgers & Hammerstein's A Grand Night for Singing. The cast will feature a line-up of some of Broadway's most seasoned performers including Courtney Balan (Broadway: [title of show], Cry-Baby), Ron Bohmer (Broadway: Phantom of the Opera, Ragtime), Greg Bosworth (Atlanta: Xanadu, Clyde and Bonnie: A Folktale), Erin Davie (Broadway: A Little Night Music, Grey Gardens), and Kenita R. Miller (Broadway: Xanadu, The Color Purple). Performances begin Monday, July 2 at 8:00 p.m.
